Everything looked fine
... backpackers vibe. Booking in was weird. Nontheless place in the sun to chill, and work, plugs, artsy backdrops. Clean linen.
Rude awaking the next morning to find, ugly dirty "kitchen" no utensils, no gas for the stove for hot water. Freakin' old dirt everywhere. Coldish luke warm water shower. Is okay.
So my little Hug in a Mug.. nada. Luckily the Wimpy was close by! ???? close to the Bult...
Won't recommend unless you just wanna crash. Wake up and leave.

The photos of the rooms are misleading on the internet, our rooms shower was over the toilet with no divider into the room. The basin also had no faucet and the shower head had to be used for this purpose as well. The smell in the room was unbearable and not inviting in the least. As soon as we saw this we asked for some kind of refund as we would not stay there. They refused to try and make any arrangement to try and accommodate us.

Very convenient for my needs and (one night) and cost effective. Only problem is that they dont clean the bedding. I could tell it was not clean. And that's the least they could do, so I had a chilled stay but the bedding issue was annoying.

Clean rooms. The bathrooms are basic but there is hot water. Friendly staff.

You get what you pay for.

I didn't have the best experience there in 2018, and my expectations really aren't high.

I had to walk in the early morning to a seperate wendy house type of thing which has a shower in it. Not ideal. The beds were okayish. And when you're sharing a room, it's really not great or too hygenic to have a toilet in the same room as your bed with no walls or so to divide them really.

Luckily they do have a security gate, which is nice, assuming it's in the middle of Cachet park where there is lots of movement and late nights can get sketchy on those roads.

THE ABSOLUTE WORST PLACE I HAVE EVER STAYED!!
I travel a great deal and have stayed at several backpackers before as well.
The pictures might look charming, but don't fool yourself - it's a dump! No free wi-fi, but that's not all - BE WARNED:
Reception was bad, having to wait for the ''Duty Manager'' to come, only to have him complain to us about his migraine, job and pay.
We booked two rooms in advance, next to each other, with showers. We were then informed that they double booked one of the rooms and my fiancé have to stay in one of the rooms where he will have to make use of a communal shower. His bed was nothing more than a cot.
In my room, none of the two wall plugs worked, so I couldn't charge my phone or blow-dry my hair for the following day's meeting. One would expect that there's no towel (as it is a backpackers, which is why we took our own towels), but there isn't even a little bit of toilet paper - there is nothing at all. The place smells of mould and the curtains (which are also filthy) cannot close the windows properly. The bedding stinks, but the bed seemed okay (although, I never ended up sleeping in the bed). You have to shower over the toilet, with just an asbestos wall separating your bed from the shower. There is a basin, with no taps, so I assume you have to brush your teeth in the shower. I always get in the shower, get wet, close the tap, wash myself and then open the tap again to rinse off. First of all, the water wasn't even warm (I am not referring to hot, it wasn't even warm). I lathered up, only to find that the water was ice cold - and that in the middle of winter!! There is no shower curtain or door, so the room's floor was also wet. I proceeded to wrap my hair (full of shampoo) in a towel, packed my belongings and left.
NOTE: NO REFUNDS! No apology, no nothing! I would recommend, to anyone considering staying here, to rather sleep in their car.
We wanted to save a little money on accommodation, but ended up paying at two places, because the bare minimum is too much to ask for Paljas Backpackers! The absolute WORST!!

I don't know where to start. Very conveniently centered, but the owner takes maximum advantage and overprice you for rooms that feel like prison cells. Rather pay R100 more and sleep in a bed bigger than you.
