One of my locals, where I enjoy a "Resort Sangria" (great taste and value), and "Portuguse Chicken Livers" (whilst doing some work) ????
Today, I was having a chat to the new owners, having been in hospitality, I understand the in-and-out of biz, plus general survival (in what has been difficult and challenging times for all).
I always believe in supporting local best you can, become known - which adds to a sense of community, and of course, be kind at the end of the day.
Del Forno in Groenkloof is an enjoyable space, well located, tucked in the corner of the Groenkloof Shopping precinct.
I've always found the food good, the staff pleasant, and the vibe is warm and cozy, with an outdoor eating area.
At the end of the day, if you want a good experience, it also starts with you.

The service was great. Warm lovely atmosphere. We enjoyed our time there, both the pizza and the side were delicious. There's a lot on offer in terms of the meals. Reasonable pricing. We just didn't have enough time to try a few things on the drinks menu ????

I had the Rump Steak Special, with butternut and sweet potato side. The steak was well prepared and rather plain. The side was the highlight of the meal. Tender cubes of root veg cooked just right, relying only on the natural sweetness of the veg. Perfect! Dessert was a massive dissapointment! The worst Tiramisu ever. Hastily made at the bar with whipped cream and and way too much coffee for the amaretto and crumbs in the glass. I was served a hot, soggy mess in a wine glass. Poorest attempt at this iconic Italian dessert ever. Not worth the bother.

Terrible service and tasteless pizza! How does a pizza and pasta restaurant not know what penne pasta is? I ordered penne and they sent me fettuccine! Ordered a Margherita pizza it tasted like dough with a tin of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese. What happened to your food? You guys used to be good! Is it new ownership or management?

Wow! I don’t normally review places but hands down they deserve to be reviewed.

We’ve been to so many fancy restaurants all over and nothing compares to Del Fornos in Groenkloof.

I’m extremely picky when it comes to pizza and schnitzels and this was probably the best I’ve had in a long time. The menu offers a wide variety of delicious and mouthwatering starters and main courses that will appeal to youngsters and adults alike.

Most of us had the Schnitzel Primavera and pizzas and as a family we all shared our food. All was exquisite, everything we ate was fresh and delicious with the highest quality ingredients to produce dishes that are simply delightful.

The service was outstanding, the owners are hands-on, warm and thoughtful. They authentically engaged us, the staff was extremely friendly and the atmosphere is brilliant.

Can't wait to visit this wonderful restaurant again.
