The perfect hangout spot if you want to chill in Rosebank but away from the crowd. Sin-tax is a hidden gem just off Bolton avenue yet, once behind the Black door, you feel as though you’re on holiday somewhere.

The staff are extremely attentive and super professional. The band provides the perfect ambience to a fun-filled evening.

Don’t tell the world about this venue. It’s SOOOO GOOD you want to keep it to yourself!

Quite simply the best cocktail bar in Jozi. I love an old fashioned and they just absolutely crush it.

The food is new since I was last there and it’s genuinely amazing. Street food is the theme of the menu (burgers, burritos u0026 taco’s)

The place is incredibly well run and has proper owner involvement behind the bar and in general service. I highly recommend sitting at the bar to learn a bit from Julian he’s a true artist. The outside section is also new and just has a great chilled vibe about it.

If you haven’t been you have to. It’s just the best little night out.

Loved this bar! It has a 1920s speakeasy vibe; literally a hole in the world. The drinks were fine, they didn’t have a lot of stock so the menu was limited and a bit on the pricey side. There’s privacy, great idea for a first date.

Great vibe with a cute courtyard, I also enjoy their music.
I had a vodka sours which I loved it was so refreshing and well balanced this was recommended to me which I liked.
I ordered the chicken wings, mushroom and cauliflower as tapas.
Absolutely delicious ????

A speakeasy type place that has a really cool vibe and setup (north indoor and outdoor seating). It has swings, couches, booths and standard tables. Great cocktails and tapas, though service is a bit slow and they aren’t very attentive to refilling water or providing basics like napkins or adequate cutlery. Diverse trendy crowd. There’s live jazz every Thursday from about 7pm, which is excellent! Highly recommend it!

I felt like I was entering a secret location when I arrived at Sin+ Tax. Location looked so dodge lololol and a whole metal black door in an alleyway? I'm surprised I wasn't asked to state a password to gain entry. The inside is lovely though kinda reminds me of a gentleman's club from the Regency era. This section is fairly small and intimate with the bar taking majority of the space. There is a courtyard like area with ample space right next to the bar. Just be mindful that it can be a little chilly in the winter times. The drinks were delicious and served in lovely glasses. They are priced in the R100s so budget accordingly. They have a small bar food /nibble menu which has some Asian inspired dishes so definitely worth a try. It's a great place with delicious cocktails and a laid back atmosphere. If you want to avoid the crowd, go between 12pm - 6pm after 7pm, it's a party.
