Very disappointed ' food had no seasoning, meat was chewy and blend. Rest room was untidy and didn't feel comfortable. Service was good but overall experience was unpleasant.

The new location seriously lacks ambience… we even moved tables to try and find a comfortable corner but alas: the decor (or lack thereof) made us quite uncomfortable and reminded me of eating in a school hall. The steaks were some of the finest that we’ve eaten , wine selection was also superb but I doubt whether we will return in a hurry

Nice place, went there for a work lunch, but they were having major electricity problems. For people who eat steak, it's probably great. I had their half chicken and it was extremely average and my food was delayed by 15 minutes compared to my colleagues who were pretty much done with their food.

In summary, if you eat beef, then this place is probably good. But for those who don't, I'd give this place a skip.

Extremely disappointing!! I hosted an International Tourism Director from the UK, and left feeling embarrassed. Pan-fried squid head starters were overcooked and shriveled into chewy whatevers. My rump steak, aside from being unable to cut through because the knives were so blunt, was extremely chewy, I had to swallow meat in chunks! Not tender or succulent at all. The vegetables ordered as a side ( an additional cost to the already high price for only a piece of poor quality meat), were served cold, and bland. My clients sirloin on the bone was equally poor. She laboured through it not only because her knife was so blunt, but because it was also sinewy and chewy. No comment on her side order of vegetables!

We did also order marrow bone, and oysters, which I admit were very good, though the serving of marrow bone was hardly enough to consider a meal, had it not been for the extra sides ordered, and the further requests for table bread, we would have left feeling more hungry than we already did when we left.

To top it off, the establishment could not generate a Tax Invoice for me to claim business expenses. Will I ever go there again - a resounding NO !! Value for money, and quality of food certainly did not tick any boxes.

Had a business lunch at the venue. 8 people. Most had steaks of various cuts and weights. Some were happy with their meals and a number were disappointed. Some of the meals weren’t the cut suggested, medium rare was over cooked (cooked right through). A variety of sides were ordered for the table and were well prepared. Overall a very mixed experience, expected more especially for the price. With so many options out there to choose from won’t be going back here.

Have eaten at quite a few of the top rated grill houses in Johannesburg since moving here about 5 years ago. This is easily the best. Everything was on point from the venue itself which is a converted house to the service to the food that is very reasonably priced. Will be back soon.

This is not the old Local Grill.
Something radical has changed.
Apart from an inadequate loadshedding generator, a restaurant fill of smoke because the extractor was not working, an absent manager for most of the time, a seemingly limited menu, one guest's steak well done instead of rare, no coffee to be had because the machine is broken ....
For the premium prices on the menu you would expect a little better.
Maybe that's why there were not many diners there, and maybe I'll also try elsewhere next time.
