Great institution that has been in Joburg for many years. Steakhouse with screens for sport and great selection of beers and all the meaty things you could want. Ribs great, meat cut selection is very v as tied and great spot to hang out, go for dinner or watch the footie or rugby.

I've been going here since I was a small child and in those 30 years nothing has changed; the decor, staff friendliness, feel, food and ribs have all remained the same. My favourite rib joint in the country by far. Nothing short of spectacular every single time.

Dropped into this establishment on a rainy day and I was damn hungry. Had never heard of it and came across it my chance. It a warm environment with a pub feel. Upon entering, on a busy day, you’ll see various groups of friends and family dining, and you can clearly see everyone is having a jolly good time.
The waiters are observant and quick to fulfil orders. Now; as for the food, I will say this, arguably the best ribs I’ve had in Joburg, the were perfection, tender and the barbecue marinade was impeccable. The steaks were paired with onion rings and hand-cut fries which I thoroughly enjoyed. Also ordered a greek salad which was fresh and delectable.

Thunder gun, as the name suggests, will give you a thunderous experience. I’m definitely going back. The menu is a bit on the mid-range pricing but trust me, it’s all worth it. I highly recommend.

Food was tasty. Calamari starter a winner.
Ribs awesome
Portuguese was saucy not my favourite but individual tastes here.
Original was delicious. Portion great .
Definitely worth a visit

All I can say is, amazing.
The food was delicious and filling, the waiters were friendly, pleasant and cracked a couple of jokes. A big recommendation for anyone look for a good steakhouse.
And go for the ribs.

Best ribs I’ve ever had. They are always busy but you don’t wait long for big orders. The quality of the food has been the same for years. I love every order of ribs I get from there. I definitely recommend Thunder Gun if you enjoy ribs. I promise, you definitely will not regret it. These owners, managers and chefs know what they are doing. Thank you Thunder Gun for never disappointing me ❤️

Meat is of great quality, Ribs are quite famous and they deserve the reputation. They need a bigger store though ????
