Trumpet Tree has been on my to do list for a while now but after visiting today, it definitely is my new favourite in Stellenbosch. I loved walking up to the restaurant and seeing the confused faces of the other guests because from the street, the front looks like a clothing shop. Reminiscent of an old time speakeasy, once inside it opens up into a generously sized beer garden. Ice cold beers on tap, various drink specials written on the wall, the biggest surprise for me was their menu. They have a generous selection of food options for R100 or less. Anything pulled pork being my kryptonite, I went straight for the sandwich. With the cheese and the gherkins, I enjoyed every bite, down to the last crumb. The others opted for various equally delicious thin crust pizzas (because there was a special on that to). And some fat, juicy Jalapeno poppers. I’ll definitely be back real soon.

A fantastic setting with a relaxed but vibrant energy. Sheltered by large trees you can enjoy dining al fresco at one of the wooden benches or sit inside close to the bar. The menu is mouth watering and the food does deliver; the relish that accompanies the deconstructed nachos is a winner. Great cocktail menu too at very reasonable prices.

A relaxed, student vibe type restaurant. The food is good, the service okay, the toilet facilities are awful. Not somewhere I would go back to in a hurry but great for those who don't mind rudimentary dining.

Unpretentious relaxed space, good food, friendly waiters, no mess no fuss, just a cool spot filled with great interesting art forms creatively placed. Perfect place to hide away in the heart of Stellenbosch and just recharge. Party perfect, great for almost any function would even host a great small wedding with a twist. Nice experience will be back

Have ordered many incredible items of food on the menu and have always been impressed. The music is tasteful, the ambience always includes customers laughing and being merry. It's well decorated with a retro feel and prices are very reasonable. All of this considered it's my favorite hangout in stellies. Great place for students, young professionals and to bring the folks for a family meal.

Wow! What an awesome vibe! With great food quality to match! I came on the cold and rainy Tuesday, with my friend. Our Irish coffees were delicious and pizzas were top quality! Especially if you enjoy a thin base with a crispy crust! I seriously recommend the Italian! And to top it off our waiter was just so friendly!

Again we didn't have food here as we were just having drinks but was very impressed by what our neighbouring tables were eating. Menu had a great selection and there was also a great selection of drinks incl wine beers and cocktails.
