Good for a lunch. Not worthy of being in a 5 star hotel.

With that said, the food is decent. I personally like and enjoy the decor and setting; you're literally on the edge of the pool; you'll be watching people swim and play. I think it adds to a great vibe! Service is friendly and pleasant, but, I have to agree with some of the other reviewers and say that perhaps the staff could be better trained.

Go for lunch, or a family dinner. But if you're looking for fine and fancy, give this place a skip.

Nothing special at all albeit nothing bad.

The seating is comfortable but not relaxed or cozy, loud and bright.

The food is not bad but nothing strikes me as special.

The mussels where horrible. Thick sauce that just coats your tongue with no mussel flavor whatsoever.

The pizza is edible (you had a wood fired oven how hard can pizza be ?)

The calamari was the best thing we tried there but again nothing really special.

I feel bad that a good majority of the reviewers had such a bad experience at this restaurant because I definitely did not have that same impression. I did come on the off season which would mean that it all would come down to how everything tasted, but I neither had bad food.
We sat right next to the window overlooking the pool and the forest and it was very relaxing (the hotel lights up the forest at night and it's a good walk called the Forest of Lights).
We started with cocktails - which by then of course we knew which drinks that most of the bartenders were good at and which weren't - and then ordered the West Coast Mussels Pot and the Spanakopita. The mussels were well cooked - the cream sauce had such a good flavor - and the Spanakopita had just the right amount of filling and pastry.
We then had a Greek Salad and a Margarita Pizza and they were delicious. The Greek Salad was so delicious that it might've been one of the best that I've ever had. The pizza was really good too, but the salad just ended up being the star. The service was indeed slow but I was on vacation time so I'm not sure I cared too much - but if you're trying to go and do things I can see how that can be irritating. I all in all really enjoyed this restaurant, it was one of my favorites at the resort.

Service was subpar, we were ignored for over 30mins before our drinks order were taken, the drinks came in another 30mins. The order for food took longer and when the food came? Let's just say, I was beyond disappointed. The rice I got was burnt and not well done. The lamb chops was ok in taste but size was appalling...I would give this place a zero star if I had the option. All in all, I would advise anyone not to ruin their time at The sun city by visiting this place.

We always have an amazing experience here. Today we had sushi, mussels and calamari. All made to perfection! With excellent service from Mtutuzeli to top it all off! Thank you guys! And keep it up!

This “restaurant” is a bad joke. Booked for dinner on Friday night, 26 Aug 2022. Greeting was pleasant enough and shown to our table. Not too many people but big table laid out next to us. Thankfully waiter informed us that they didn’t pitch. Waitress was very helpful and we ordered. Salmon and crayfish respectively. Asked about sides for crayfish and told rice or chips. Asked for half rice and half chips. Informed that chef says that is not possible. Ordered anyway after explaining we’re happy to pay for it. Chef accommodated us, whew. Salmon arrived without peas, waitress had to consult menu again to confirm that it did in fact say peas and it was retrieved from kitchen and served in the side halfway thru the meal. Crayfish served with mash, almost like the chef was having a laugh. Side plate of overcooked rice and chips in a small basket served on the side. Crayfish was overcooked and dry. At this point we didn’t care, bring the bill and let’s get out of here. Won’t be back. Go to the fast food court and have anything, it will be better than this sad excuse for a restaurant. Spending approx R500 on a main course here is an insult. Do not recommend, stay away.

Went there for supper with my family. Had to sit and listen to a group of very foul mouthed men at another table. Decided to eat our starters, which we had already ordered, and leave. My husband’s and son’s starter were finished by the time my starter was delivered. No apologies no explanation. I cancelled my order, we paid for our meal and left. Not one person came over to apologise for our experience, no managerial supervision at all. Would not recommend this restaurant at all!!
