I was very excited to visit Bukara as it was one of my most favorite halal restaurants after 2 years of covid we went in ramadaan to have iftaar there with 2 close friends and my husband we ordered from the Haiku menu and Bukara menu an array of dishes.

I have to admit its not the best restaurant and has downgraded alot
The service was not great and thr food was also not great as it use to be now i know everyone had to cut cost due to covid but this was cut cost on another level.

As i walked in no1 noticed me not the staff nor the manager no1 at the door
I went to seat myself and saw the manager at the bar stuffing his face.

Then our waiter had a bad odour and for a food place that is not on very u hygienic

The Wooton soup must have been my favourite of all the dishes and the butter chicken which i replaced with prawn.
My husband had the tandoori chops which was so tiny and dry but very soft.
The tandori chicken kebabs was devine very soft and you could taste the tandoori
Then we had steak dish off the bone but was terrible dry and not appetizing at all.
All the dishes was really small portions so i was still hungry after that experience.
We ordered many more dishes please see pics below
My honest opinion its over priced and the foods not that great lost alot of respect for Bukara.
Also the masala chips was precut chips and not fresh there was hardly any masala on was so bland and the restaurant was not really busy.
My mango yoghurt drink came in a cheap scratchy small glass for 45rands i would i expect it to be served in something much prettier like they usually serve it in a milkshake glass.
Over priced again.
Not impressed

Absolutely amazing food. One of the best Indian restaurants in Cape Town for sure. They a bit pricy. But worth the money. Quality of Meat was excellent

Delicious food and fancy Indian decor. My usual starter is the really tender chicken tikka with tasty garlic naan. Followed by a lamb or prawn main course. Pleasant surprise in the bathroom (see the pic)

Went there for lunch. The place is now called 'Awara'. They have combined the menu of Haiku and Bukhara.
It's super confusing because the Vu0026A waterfront branch has a slightly different menu. We had specifically asked about this when we had called them for reserving the table but the staff themselves have no idea about how the menus are.

Coming to service, the food was served to us in a haphazard manner, with the starter being served at the end of the meal.
Being an Indian restaurant , they don't seem to come anywhere close to real Indian hospitality.
No drinks menu was provided. We were told that since the barman is not present they don't wish to give us the drinks menu. Which seems strange.
The main course came first. No condiments on the side were given. The kasuri methi chicken was very passable. The chicken was boiled, thready and smelt old.
The chicken kulcha starter was too sharp and crispy to swallow. There was barely any chicken in it.
The garlic chicken kebab was good since it came with onion in green chutney, but the chicken was dry and tasteless inside. The Naan provided with it was dry and chewy.
The experience was super boring , and one can get waaay better Indian food and service in other places in Cape Town.
The food and service is not NOT worth the price at all. Very dull place. The management seems to have deteriorated a lot.

Absolutely amazing experience last night. You know those meals that are so good, that you're still thinking about them the next day? The quality of the starter (I had octopus) and the lamb curry for mains, was out of this world. Our waiter Vincent was outstanding, he was very attentive and really took care of us. Can't wait to go back!

Always a wonderful night out, whether as a couple or - like tonight - a large family. Great food; great service; great decor. All fresh and wonderful flavours! And we were lucky enough to be served by Chris this evening, who was attentive throughout.

The best butter chicken in the whole of CT for sure. Prices are high but worth it. Food is exquisite!! The setting and the service is outstanding ????
