A lovely lunch with friends, some ordered the carvery which comes ready plated u0026 others ordered off the menu. The food was pleasant, but I had a higher expectation for the carvery plate. My potatoes were over done u0026 rather small compared to others, the pumpkin under done u0026 rather hard u0026 chicken not crispy enough with no golden brown colour. We did have the most delightful waitress DEMI which was very warm u0026 welcoming in her demeanor u0026 ready to accommodate us with anything we needed. We found the manager somewhat cold u0026 distant, only greeting us briefly when leaving the restaurant. As someone who understands the ins u0026 outs of the hospitality u0026 food industry, a friendly gesture from him would make clients feel alot more comfortable or welcomed making them feel appreciated as patrons to his restaurant?

Simply amazing service and the food was great. No complaints especially considering we called in late on a Friday night to make a reservation and they were able to accommodate us.

I had a rump steak with chips and pepper sauce, it was absolutely delicious along with the complimentary spinach and butternut. The manager was welcoming and checked in on us to make sure we were happy with the service, which we really appreciated. Our waiter was lovely and friendly throughout our dinner.

June 19 . Cynthia took me to Cattle Barron to celebrate Father's Day . There was a special roast lunch of both chicken and beef . No corkage so I bought a very nice bottle of Shiraz from TOPS . The restaurant was very full with a very pleasant vibe . The service was impeccable .

Veyr warm and welcoming front of house.
Service is prompt and professional leaving you feeling at comfort with adequate time for decisions, never felt rushed. Our waiter was an absolute champion with great people skills.
Would openly recommend to any friends and peers and happily return for another sitting

Shocker of an experience. My wife had to send her steak back twice - her steak was ordered medium. 1st one was so well done and 2nd one was rare. Not hard to get right and yet it’s a steakhouse. I advise you to stay away. I’ll never return. Lucky to get 1 star.

Castle Barons Plattekloof is absolutely amazing. So awesome to see that old school dining still exists. From a fantastic welcome to a Lovely warm table setting. The waitress was super friendly and did exactly whatyou would from a waitress in this environment. To the most beautiful and succulent well cooked filet steak. The prices are exactly where they should be..I would recommend Cattle Barons Plattekloof to anyone wanting a great eat out experience

I had an excellent birthday dinner with the family.

The venison carpaccio was the perfect starter to the classic Cattle Baron Chateaubriand (highly recommend the Chateaubriand for four, you get a generous discount). The fillet was so soft it melted like butter. And of course the generous portion of mushroom and bearnaise sauce compliments the beef so well.

Topped it all off with a relaxing Kahlua Dom Pedro.

I haven't been there in a while and would like to revisit more frequently. Highly recommended ????????
