A very small nature reserve with very short hikes. Adequate for a short, small picnic. It is free but looks closed, buzz to be granted access as only a limited amount of people/cars will be allowed in.

My husband and I had our wedding at the lapa, right in the middle of all the animals and beautiful green lands. We had 80 people and everyone loved the spot! We searched long and hard for a venu, but when we saw this place it was perfect for us, it is so so beautiful and the guy who helped us ( Chad) was very kind and very helpful!! My wedding was a dream come true!! Everything was perfect! I recommend you try this place!!

We were greeted at the gate by the park ranger who is there over weekends from 9am. Entrance was free of charge and the reserve consists of a handful short trails (all less than 1km). The reserve gives nice views of the Durbanville Race Course. In terms of bird life species we saw Cape Sparrow, Southern Double-Collared Sunbird, Cape Weaver, Southern Masked Weaver, African Sacred Ibis, Helmeted Guineafowl. We had a special encounter with the Southern Double-Collared Sunbird male as it responded to our bird calls and spent time close to us. You can do a thorough tour of the reserve in less than a hour. Overall the reserve is very small, lacks water resources and the picnic sites are not being maintained. Still a pleasant visit (2.5 stars)

Great place quiet and chill. But will advise to add more for adventure so people can visit more often

Not a very big place, but still beautiful and quiet but for the birds chirping. Totally free of charge too.

Great place for that afternoon walk or family picnic day. Like most nature reserves it's peaceful and well looked after. When I'm not in the mood for travelling to far this is my "go-to" for out door activity

If you want to experience nature at its finest, this is a great place to do that. Forget Switzerland, forget the pyramids. The beauty of nature is found in the small things right under your nose.
