A real hidden gem for bird watchers and nature enthusiasts alike. Tranquil and calm, with safe parking, Rondevlei is a great place to have a socially distant chat while walking from hide to hide. It's free entry and not very big, but a fantastic spot for a check on which birds are in season. If you bring little ones, a checklist is handy, as is a picnic.

Beautiful place with short walking trails to watch birds. Clean picnic area with clean toilets. Visited during dry season so didn't see any hippos. There is also a very small museum. Entrance is free. Was super quiet only spotted a handful of people.

What a wonderful place to observe birds and other animals in their natural environment.

There are bird hides and towers that give you a view over the whole park.

The paths are ideal for walkers and wheelchair users and there are adequate bathrooms.

However, there is a period of environmental cleanup which means there's not much to see at the moment, and given the Covid-19 pandemic, no event hosting is currently allowed.

The aquarium is also closed, which is a pity.

The potential is there, and as soon as it's back up to speed, it is truly a great little venue.

Great reserve to visit. Kids love to see the bird life especially the flamingos and pelicans.
Good outing for the whole family. Has braaispots but didnt venture to use that section of the area as yet.

Beautiful and tranquil experience. Look out points was closed off whilst were there during the Covid-19 period. But still had a beautiful walk in between the lushes green paths.

A stunning nature reserve right in the middle of suburbia with views of the mountains. We went here for an early morning birdwatching trip with the Cape Bird Club and saw a wonderful variety of birds. The bird hides could use a little TLC. Pathways are well-maintained. My biggest gripe is that, apparently, this reserve isn't open on weekends!

Lovely morning, peaceful watching the birds. Indigenous plants all in bloom. The area is well looked after and the guy on duty was pleasant, helpful and quite knowledgeable
