The atmosphere, staff and food were all incredible. The lighting, decor and music made for a very calm environment that you could easily lose track of time. The staff was attentive but gave enough time between checking in to allow for a relaxing environment. My highlight was the death by chocolate tart but everything else I had was a very close second.
The only downside was that we sat at a table that was a little unstable but to be fair we did ask to be seated there so it does not fall on the restaurant.

I would 100% recommend this restaurant and will definitely be going again.

They just finished renovations and I must say it's worth it. You get amazing views on the balcony. Just be aware that they have 2 different menus for upstairs and downstairs .. we chose downstairs so we could sit on the terrace. I enjoyed the signature dish - sea bass in coconut rice with some chilli (exquisite!!), my friend ordered the rib eye and it was equally tasty and the other friend had the prawn sushi. For dessert we shared the molten chocolate cake with ice cream (exquisite). What's there not to love here? The service, the location, the food are just perfect!!!!

I sat outside because it was quite a hot day, the day I went. Probably wasn't the best decision as the people who offered boat rides (next to the resturant) were yelling and enticing customers to take boat rides, a little too loudly. So in case that would bother you, it's something to take into account and maybe opt for indoor seating. But aside from this, I had a really great time. The service from my waitress (Ruva) was top notch and the food (both presentation and taste) was divine. It offered an affordable fine dining experience.

Enjoy sundowners and seafood here to start off your evening or night in Cape Town. I visited for the the first time by accident two years ago and made a point to make it my first stop on my next visit, and I did. The oysters were just as fresh as I remembered them and the staff were as attentive and friendly as always. In fact, the staff are a big reason for my 5 STAR rating. We were very fortunate to be hosted by the all so courteous Fortunate.

Completely enjoyed eating at this fantastic restaurant. Location is great, right on the waterfront, with a great ambiance. Servís was outstanding, food quality was excellent and the taste was delicious. The restaurant and bathrooms were clean. Everything was great at this place. You must try it!

Beautiful restaurant on the ground floor. Stunning views but terrible service. Waited over an hour to receive starters at 4pm on a Saturday. Restaurant was not even at full capacity. The Manager did not take requests or complaints seriously. But just ignored us. Pathetic service for price paid for meals. Waiter did not give us feedback on meals and waiting time. Not worth the price or visit at all. Don’t waste your time with this pretty place if you actually want to eat.

First time visitor to the restaurant, the service is mediocre. The waiter is always in a hurry. No bread for starter. I ordered scallops it took 40 minutes to bring the plate and they were burnt.
The waiter never asked me what I am having for main course I had to call him to order.
The main course took another 1 hour since ordering the food fish was disgusting, the prawns not bad.
0 star to this restaurant
But the view on the Barbour was good.

I did get a call from management to apologize for the bad experience from Chantal which I do appreciate
