Really good fish and chips. Only reason for not giving a perfect 5 is because competition for fish u0026 chips in Cape Town is tough. Snoek was slightly dry and the chips too, but would be happy to eat here again any day.

Wow! I guess there's a first time for everything and yesterday was my first disappointment from this iconic fisheries. Two 'overcooked' pap hake n chips parcels which didn't sit too well with me....and the rest of the family. Hopefully it's just a once off experience that I won't have to go through again. Bought Saturday around 14h00

This place holds great memories for me since my dad would take us here when we were kids. They still serve the best fish and chips in Cape Town. They fry the calamari when you order, so its always the right texture and the family meal is a generous portion and comes with free sauces.

No frills however the best portion of fish and chips guaranteed - Def value for money, always busy however the service is always quick and friendly. I'm a fan of their chip rolls as evidenced by my pic.

Most highly recommend (see update below!) fish u0026 chips in town. Their slap tjips slathered in salt and vinegar are fantastic!

Update: today we bought hake and chips here again and were disappointed. Firstly we had to wait about ten minutes for more chips to be fried and when we tasted the fish, it was not as flakey and fresh as usual and the batter was not crisp but unpleasantly stodgy. Sad to see quality going down while prices are climbing up

Wow the fish is fresh and delicious. Soft inside and just melts in your mouth. The chips portion is just more than enough. Great service and will sure recomend.

Fish is great, 4 stars due to the fishcakes having quite a few bones in them. Other than that, tasty and well located.
