What a place to visit! Quite the dishes may look simple but they are absolutely incredible! If you’re looking to try one of Africa‘s exotic dishes such as ostrich steak, crocodile, warthog, or springbok this is the place to go. We went on a Friday and they had live music starting at 6 PM which created a vibe that was absolutely contagious.

I’d recommend making a reservation, we waited over an hour for a table. However we didn’t mind too much with all the lively activity within the restaurant and a small shop to look through.

Mama Africa did not let us down. We enjoyed more traditional South Africa cuisine and that is exactly what we are looking for here. Brandon was an amazing server. The front door staff were friendly and happy to assist us. The food was traditional in terms of meat's spices and sides. We will be back here again before we leave Cape Town. Thank you to every staff member involved. You all helped to make this a great experience. The live entertainment was a nice surprise as well. Just an fyi, get the meat sampler dish if you are looking to try true south African meat. Crocodile, springbok, ostrich, Kudu, Venison sausage and Warthog. All meats very tasty in their own way. Enjoy your meal.

I absolutely loved this place. The decor was mesmerising and cheeky in some parts! We came for lunch but I wish we came for dinner as there is entertainment at night. I tried meats platter and it was actually so delicious. I miss eating springbok! The staff were so lovely and happy. They welcomed us warmly. If I get a chance to bring my friends to South Africa I am making them eat here

I really don't understand the negative reviews about this place! It's simply amazing, welcoming and authentic, wide choice of food and great great quality! We ordered a sirloin steak and a bobatie and they were absolutely gorgeous! The atmosphere is great and during the meat a local african group delighted people with their fantastic sound! Really good good vibes in this restaurant! A must go!

That's your place if you are looking for a restaurant with an African vibe. Beautiful decoration, delicious food (especially recommended wild game mixed grill with meats of crocodile, ostrich, springbok u0026 more), friendly service and fantastic live music. This combination will surely make this culinary experience memorable.

Ensure you make reservations for this place and it will be worth it. You will be greeted by very pleasant staff who will patiently guide you through the menu first and make recommendations for you. The food is then on another level. Super delicious. I recommend their mixed wild game platter and you will not be disappointed.

it was a very nice evening with delicious african food and an awesome live band! the waiter also did a great job! i can recommend the mama africa. but its important to reserve a table
