Not so busy today and the staff are very helpful. The on-site cafeteria came in handy as the vending machines I was pre-warned about them not giving you change. Do have the exact amount if you plan on using the snacks vending machine. The cold drinks vending machine you can use your bank card to tap.

Thanks for the good care of the nurses of the 7th floor....special mention to the Male nurse that treats every patient will a smile, good bed side manners....The New Somerset hospital could be proud to have someone like you in their service.....WELL DONE YOU DESERVE A MAJOR INCREASE! Yes and you are doing a awesome job with the small budget from the department of Health....Good job staff of floor 7!!!!

As a foreign national I was disgusted and outraged. Was very sick. An Asian doctor came up to me asking how I got into the bed. I was confused. I said the nurse that took my blood pressure. He then violently kicked me out of the bed. I was very confused asking what does this mean ?he then said there are patients that need the bed more than you. And I don’t care who you are.
I then asked him what’s happening ? I’m a patient what do you mean you don’t care who I am. Next thing they did not attend to me. From 2.30AM to 5.40 when I decided to leave. I was truly confused. One of the guy that saw my file yet didn’t treat. Came to the lady next to me asking her if she’s been seen. Dismissing me completely. The asian doctor even said he’s not treating me and he will send someone but no one came. I kept demanding a doctor to treat cause I didn’t get it. As I’m telling they blatantly dismissed me. I’m never coming back from that.Very sad.

Last night 25 May 2022 I took my 7 month old baby girl to the emergency. Arrived just after 7pm. The sister/ nurse in the pediatric ward was absolutely fantastic. At about 8:40 4he doc arrived. Asked how she can help and I told her what was wrong with my baby. She asked me what did the clinic say so I told her I wasn't at the clinic and came straight to the hospital.any to cut a long story short I was told that me taking my baby straight to somerset is stopping her from helping patients who come in from a accident or being stabbed. It was actually quiet in emergency last night. She then asked me wat she must do for my baby I then told her that she is the doctor she should examine my baby and take it from there. She then walked out on me and never came back. Never in my life have I ad such a horrific experience.

To be honest and I’m sure management won’t even read this review - it is expected from a government hospital so well done guys on proving me right.

Security is horrific - sick wife - try assist her to the emergency room and told I can’t come in - to assist someone??? No man. Come on guys - then security told me she looks okay. You must be joking. A pregnant lady that can’t walk straight???

Absolutely pathetic for a government hospital that caters for our tourists being so close and all to the Waterfront.

Nurses and doctors are amazing but saldy to get to them you have to argue and fight with a security who clearly isnt well trained.
My wife was in the labour ward as her water broke , i had to drop off some essentials for her and was refused entry , as per the security their rules are even if the patient is in labour they need to come get it from the entrance themselves.
The security then proceeded to tell me if I have a problem I should take my wife somewhere else.
Honestly do they even train them before employing them.

One star is too much. From being booked in with broken hip, three weeks later my mom got an internal infection. Now at trauma unit for 4 hours and we told someone is coming for the last 2 hours. This is the service of Somerset hospital. I leave here with no one seeing my mom. Back home with her infection
