Driving through to the parking lot there are other trails as well but we headed straight for the dam.
Parking area was sufficient and it was a 5 min walk to the dam.

Took me 20 minutes as I had a bad flare day ???? . I sat down when we reached it and hubby went around on his own.

Water in the dam was quite full and people were having a swim and relaxing around the area having a picnic.

Please take your water bottle and snacks as there are no shops.
Don't forget your sunblock and hat ????

Situated in the Silvermine Nature Reserve - you need to pay an entrance fee or use your Wild Card membership. Beautiful surroundings with a planked walkaway around the dam and some awesome picnic spots. No dogs allowed on the one section of the dam. Great for swimming especially after a long hike.

Stunning for swimming in. Temperature approx 27C. Dogs permitted to swim near corner at foot bridge. Recommend to go early especially on weekends or holidays

Great picnic spots around the dam. The picnic spots are well constructed, and offer a fair amount of shelter from the wind. There is easy access to a myriad of hiking trails and scenic walks. What a gem.

Sad that nobody told me about this sooner. Such a cool spot to swim. Only 500m from car to water. Dogs allowed.

What an experience, wonderful nature walk, lunch on the mountain and back down to the dam. Will do the other hiking trails next weekend.

Great spot for a picnic and a swim... definitely recommended to go early and spend the day... (no braais allowed at the moment)
