The Tomo Restaurant is an authentic Japanese restaurant in the heart of Cape Town that you need to experience. As we sat down and started perusing the menu, while taking in the décor (matches what I have seen from Japanese movies and Anime), we received a complimentary Jasmine Tea which I thought was quite a nice touch. Their menu has a large variety of items on it with all of the sushi we tried being very tasty and beautifully presented. For my main I ended up going for the Egg Noodles with prawns, but I should have gone for the beef Ramen (which my wife ordered) that I tasted and really enjoyed. What I really liked was you can order carafe's of sake which has enough for about 4 sake glasses and calling out "Kanpai" (cheers in Japanese) as you celebrate the great evening. Our waitress was also very friendly and attentive. The only thing I recommend they do better, and maybe it was just that evening we visited, is to have some more traditional Japanese music playing in the background to just add to the entire experience. Overall we had a great time and will definitely be back.
