Vergenoegd was such a disappointment. Visiting from NZ with my son and family and looked forward to viewing the duck parade that was advertised on their website, only to be informed there that the owner cancelled the attraction. We instead decided to dine at their restaurant and paid an arm and a leg for sour service and tasteless food being served in small kids sized portions. Would not recommend this place to anyone, the Cape is full of wonderful wine farms to visit, worth your time and money, Vergenoegd is not one of them.

Very disappointed. Your website says you still run the duck parades. We drove all the way out to see them only to be told that you have sold them. Then the restaurant has a menu with prices starting at 800 for 2 courses. Ridiculous. Please update your website and let everyone know that your ducks have gone. False advertising to lure people to a ridiculously over priced restaurant.

We had a lovely time there. I would suggest to go when you are not in a hurry. Unfortunately didn't see the ducks.,wasn't aware that they don't do the "run" anymore.
The Wine tasting was simple yet enjoyable. My husband had the family range (reds) and I had the Runnerduck range which was mostly white with one rose and a red blend. The Riesling was a bit more complex and interesting nose. The most enjoyable one for me the Sauvignon Blanc.

Unfortunately no cooldrinks or platters at the tasting. You would need to walk over to the restaurant on the other side and not be in a rush either.

What a great antique venue. I was there for a picnic for a friend's birthday and they set up a really cool thing inside with a fire and live music. The food was fantastic and the service was good. There is lots of parking, be warned that it's gravel and gets really muddy when it's raining. The whole place is wheelchair friendly. Check the ducks out on their walk. Definitely recommend.

We went there having booked a picnic in advance. The food was ultimately great, as was the picnic spot and service, but the promised kids activity was not available, so had to get that refunded. The market is very cool, when running, with live music and food. And the duck run with 1000s of ducks is a winner for young and old.
