Woodstock Cave is one of the easiest hikes around Cape Town. Rhodes was closed as we arrived at 8am, but we decided to start from Devil's Peak. We took the contour path, catching the first bit of waterfalls along the way. Fantastic views as always. The cave is clean at the moment. It's easy and for the entire family, at any time of the year. There might be vagrants sleeping in the cave, but we cant say for sure. We found some cups and a spot where a fire had been made. Other than that, be safe and don't litter on the Mountain.

The view from the cave was incredible. The atmosphere was peaceful with sound of the waterfall flowing down the front of the cave. I was a bit disappointed by the rubbish left behind by some thoughtless hikers that do not appreciate nature.

I want to give this hike 4 stars because of some litter and homeless people making fire and peeing in the cave but why let people ruin such natural beauty as they ruin everything ???? Anyway it is a beautiful hike definitely one of my favourites so far. Its a quickish easy one that's even easy to do with a slight hangover so no excuses with this one jus take an energade and packet of sweets you'll be fine. Lots of waterfalls recently with all the rain fall we've had so don't wear ur white nikeys???? Was a tricky one to find. I parked at the devil's peak parking which is where one should park because if u go passed there and there's no parking further up its difficult to turn around because the road becomes quite narrow with people parked on either side. Its about a 40min walk on the closed road to where I started the hike so very nice chilled start with beautiful views and photo opps. Not very straight forward signage as the others. The 'Woodstock Caves' sign that u see in most photos is actually at the end of the hike and I went looking for it to start the hike and missed the path up ???? So I'll post a pic of a half wall and rusted green gate when u get to this gate jus before the do not enter sign there's a path up on ur right hand side. That's where I started the up hill hike towards The Cave. Took me about 20mins from that point up. So in total you could do it in an hour then took me 40mins back to my car going down is always quicker for me. Spent about 20mins up there quick rest few photos few snacks so total its about 2 hours I would say. But definitely worth it would recommend to any beginner its easier than lions head. ENJOY ????

Amazing hike to the top of the cave. Very scenic with views of the city, the harbour and the forest nearby. Lots of inclines, it's not an easy hike, but it's worth the effort. The route through the newlands forest is shaded so you get a better, more comfortable start.

Lovely experience. If you like me and you a casual hiker, this one has an excellent reward with beautiful views and an amazing cave that cools you down for the trip back. In total I would say about 6.7 km round trip 3 to 4 hours with a nice break. It's not too far with few really steep bits...

Sunrise hike to Woodstock Cave starting out at the end of Table Mountain Road at the Devils Peak parking. The first 2.5km we walked the closed section of Table Mountain Road fir 2.5km until the tar road ended then it was the steady zig-zag incline for 700m up to Woodstock Cave. The views were breathtaking observing the city waking up below whilst the sun rose. We had our coffee u0026 snacks and walked the lower contour path back to the Devils Peak zig-zag down to our vehicle. The total distance hiked was about 7.5km. It was an easy non-technical hike. Remember to take your 2l water, snacks and a jacket in case the weather changes.
