Bought a custard slice today. Pastry was awful, underdone and very flat and stodgy, custard tasted like it had been made with water and not milk, very thick and unappetizing. Have had better. Gave it to my dogs. Was very disappointed indeed. Usually their baked goods are nice but not today..

The butchery is about the best part. Vegetables are mostly fresh and delicious. Bakery is also good. Where my 3 stars come in is lack of floor space. Don't visit during busy hours if you like your personal space. Service isn't great either although Patrick the butcher was a genuine and nice butcher.

Edit:
I have changed this to four stars for a simple reason. Today I visited and there were quite a selection of easy lunch or dinner selections neatly packaged and at great prices. I find myself returning often for deals and the bakery so how can I not.

Great mixture of goods and good prices. The loose freshes are the way to go since you can choose. But packed products are generally a mix of old and fresh. So if there are 10 strawberries, 2-3 would be off. A street smart and mediocre way of chasing the customers away to woolies if they can afford and don't have to be treated like halfwits. They could have been a perfect shop but hey! they rather earn little extra than be proud of the work:)

My everyday go to shop. The best place to purchase the freshest fruit and veg. Weekly specials. Absolutely wonderful staff. From management to the gentleman at the entrance.

Overall their fruits and vegetables are of good quality and prices ons most of the items in store are lower than the other shops.
