Please note that Dirkie Uys Primary Public School has limited space in each class but an unlimited number of Applications to enrol Children. To help alleviate the shortage of classroom's, perhaps parents will think of turning/converting the contentious "Backpackers" classroom accommodation (discredited by Southlands Sun and Daily News reports initiated by "BCA" ) into the original classrooms! Backpackers: (11 Classrooms) The backpackers sleeping quarters are in the form of dormitories. The rooms are on the first and second floors; they are class rooms and store rooms which have been converted. The beds consist of double bunk beds. Ablution facilities are on the ground level - you will find a large ablution facility to cater for the children, male and female adults.
School zoning and feeder zones: One of the most controversial aspects to the admissions process is the zoning system. Much confusion exists on whether or not it’s an official system and, if so, where the so-called “feeder zones” can be viewed. Many parents are suspicious that the system is abused in order to deny access to learners.
It always seems impossible until it’s done! ????
