Its a pity this Portuguese restaurant could have so much potential, from the authenticity of the food to the decor. Very disappointing, in a prime spot in the heart of Umhlanga, by the sea, its shabby look with the faded restaurant's name on the outside, to missing hanging light bulbs and mismatched tablecloths and uninviting look. We specifically searched for and wanted to dine at a Portuguese restaurant, however the ambiance and food unfortunately did not meet up to our standards and expectations. The food photos may look good but the sauce and flavours are not true to portuguese cuisine (we are portuguese). The two stars are for the excellent waiters.

If you’re looking for fresh and tasty seafood that is cooked with passion and highest quality at affordable prices, them look no further. A platter for two you will take your tastebuds on a scenic route that you’ll remember for many years. Friendly staff, great location in a relaxed atmosphere. Topped up by a desert menu you won’t regret but for the kalories. Will come again any time ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I heard so much about this place, I had to try it for myself while I was in Durban. Loved the platter / chaffing dish for two people. The portions and flavor were awesome, fresh seafood, love it.

Delicious food to enjoy with good company. Situated directly opposite The Pearls in the Umhlanga Plaza. Lots of Seafood and choice of other Combos. Also tasted this meal that comes to the table still flaming. Pity I didn't get a picture. We just dug right in. The waiter David is very helpful and courteous.

Work colleagues brought me to this restaurant since I love Portuguese flavored foods.

They too were trying Julio's out for the first time so we all didn't know what to expect.

Seating and comfort was basic, together with ordinary looking tables.

Service was good though. Friendly waiters all round.

Got served the foods and I can say the sole was very nice but prepared with lemon butter but the peri sauce was just not anything wonderful.

Desert menu was very underwhelming but I don't necessarily have this after a meal but for those who do, quite disappointing.

I will however come here again if our options are limited.

Staff very welcoming. Good lunch n dinner specials. Variety of meals Portuguese cuisine. Seafood platter for two was beautifully prepared n served. Very tasty meal with many choices of drinks to accompany the dish.
