Visited ocean basket recently and the food was great. We had ordered a fusion sushi platter, a prince prawns platter and a side of calamari heads. The only problem is that the wait was alittle long for the food. Other than that they have great affordable sushi prices and affordable food as well. The staff was friendly and the management made sure we were taken care of. I do have one complaint though and that is the cocktail drinks are alittle too small for the price compared to other restaurants.

I could barely bring myself to rate them 2 stars. We arrived at Ocean Basket Suncoast and were only seated at around after 15 whole minutes,the waiting time was not it, considering they were only partially busy.
I personally haven't eaten at Ocean Basket for a good 6 to 7 years, but I remember it being a solid family favorite throughout my childhood because of the great taste. However today I was let down, it definetly did not live up to my expectations. Apart from the long wait to be seated, the serving time was also awfully long . The drinks were brought at different times to our table and so was our starters . It was about 10 to 15 minutes before another starter came out . Considering we ordered 3 different ones and expected them to be served at once. The wait was quite frustrating. Overall the starters were okay. Some aspects of the Meze platter weren't well seasoned and the prawn cakes were dry . The main however was much better. We had the full deck platter, the mussels were well cooked , so was the fish and the calamari, the prawns were over cooked . It was an average dining experience overall. I expected so much more from them, best believe I left highly disappointed.

I wish I could have read the reviews before I went, as the complaints are similar, and unfortunately we experienced somewhat the same. We waited 45 mins before our platter came, and didn't get any rolls, as we are accustomed. Glad to say, our platter made up for it. OB really has to look into the fact that the suncoast branch is really understaffed.

If i could put no stars for Ocean Basket Suncoast I would as it was the worst experience in a restaurant I ever had. Had the restaurant been busy I could understand the situation, but it was not very busy. The waitress was full of attitude as if she was doing us a favor by doing her work. Because of this, service was slow and the manager nowhere to be seen. We ordered a hake soup and got given a seafood soup. Upon alerting her of this, she grabbed it out of our hands and returned with the "fish" soup what felt like 15min later. Just to start eating it and find parts of the prawn still in it. Dont get me started on the red onions in the sushi. Since when does red onion feature in sushi, it completely overpowered everything but i ate it as it took so long to get to us in the first place. Upon his return, the manager avoided our table by any means necessary and couldn't even make eye contact with us, even when we brought it to the waitresses attention that we got charged for the incorrect soup. We eventually got told to deduct it off the final bill amount. I work in the food service industry and can wholeheartedly tell you that I'm not a complainer as I know everyone does their best to make the customer's experience a memorable one. We'll needless to say, I won't forget this experience in Ocean Basket Suncoast as it was the worst one yet. Generally I believe the waiter should be tipped no less than 10% of the total bill, but after the service we got I couldn't get myself to adhere to that rule. I will never go back there and will not recommend it to anyone.

They have the best food and the best service. Papas prawns are to die for!!! Everything from the hot chips, fresh out the oven bread buns, the friendly service and the ambience made for a wonderful outing. If you looking for great service, food that is delectable and not too pricey, I highly recommend Ocean Basket Suncoast. Thanks guys!

The restaurant was pretty empty when we arrived and we were seated immediately by the host. A further 10 minutes later and no waiter had arrived. After asking for service, the host eventually took our order.

The complementary rolls were stale and cold; not what you’re used to from Ocean Basket. The food was good and made up for the rest of the experience. I’ve added a picture of the sauce bottle to my review - have a look at it’s condition - should have been thrown out long time ago!

Shocking experience. Took ten minutes to get seated. Mind you there was no line. Waitress finally noticed us and got us seated. At this time the manager walked past us twice and ignored us
Finally get seated and waited 20 minutes and no one came to us. I went and asked for a waitress and no one bothered to assist. I asked for the manager and again he ignored me. I still waited there to see anyone will come to us. Still no service after asking for a manager. What was more shocking, people that came in after us were attended to. When I decided to leave the restaurant, the waitress and waiters just laughed.
