The hotel is nice and very reasonably priced but the smell outside the hotel is terrible and huge rats are amongst the litter and food thrown from the various eating places. Also lots of thiefs about waiting for an opportunity to pounce on you and steal your bag and any items you bought the. Fordsburg used to be a nice place to visit a while back but not anymore and not anice place to be at if you have young children and eldery foĺks.

Hotel located in convenient area. Food easily available and area is safe. Paid for secure parking per car, although, returning to the hotel late at night meant that our cars were to be parked on the road despite paying for parking. Carpets need attention as well. Rooms are very spacious and comfortable. Staff are very pleasant and it was a very lovely experience.

Hallway was way too dark and creepy. I and my friends did not feel safe walking out in the halls at night even though they had security around the clock. THe front door is usually locked and a guard is always at watch so that’s reassuring. Neighborhood is in a predominantly Muslim community so be aware that you will hear prayers. Our window was facing the street and from 6pm to 10 pm some guy in the street was directing traffic or something by whistling and making noises. It was very annoying. The room itself was not bad but the ac unit could only be turned on for 3 hours at a time or else it would leak on you and the bed.
Our driver picked us up from the hotel and yelled at us. He said that women should be careful. My group of girls could have gotten kidnapped or worse in the neighborhood so that kind of scared us after our stay.

My family and i stayed at the Orient recently. The service received was amazing. All the receptionists were friendly and accommodating. The cleaning staff were superb. Thank you very much to Luxmi, Ludfiyah and Josephine for looking out for/after us. Also thank you to Thabang for all the assistance over the 4 days that we were there.

Located in a moderately safe neighborhood it has surprisingly spacious rooms with a kitchen,Wi-Fi, the staff are friendly and are more than ready to assist you at any time. I mean, there's a doorman who ALWAYS gets the door for you... It's also conveniently positioned next to nandos, KFC, burger King, oriental plaza and a thrift market.

Very neat and clean. Friendly staff and very comfortable beds. Secure parking and situated close to a large range of shops and eateries. Two blocks away from Oriental Plaza

I checked in at this hotel on the 01 November 2017 at about 16h00, the next morning when i was about to check out and hand in the DSTV remote to the reception i was told by an Islamic Female in a very abrupt manner that you cannot check out before we send someone from her Team to check the room. We waited at the reception for about 10 minutes , on the arrival of a black foreign national he came down with a Bed Sheet AND he reported to the Reception that there are FOOD [ Indian curry STAINS ON IT ] , She demanded us to compensate the hotel for these stains. I responded that we did not have supper in the hotel and she can double check that with her reception and her CCTV cameras ..we went out for supper and we came in with a packet of Biscuits ...she was not interested to do so up until we argued that these stains does not belong to us nor is it a fresh stain like what i described that happen the night before ...after a long while she then called the cleaner once again in a very bad manner ..she asked the cleaner and surprisingly the cleaner responded that these stains she is fully aware of it ...it was definitely not from us ...she cleaned and made the room and she knows about the stained BED LINEN...then she was interrupted by THE FOREIGN NATIONAL OF WHOM I THINK IS ACTING LIKE A SECURITY OFFICER WITHOUT ANY TRAINING OR PSIRA REGISTERED ..HE ASKED HER can you confirm what you are saying are you sure more than 3 times...WHAT HAPPEN WE WILL DEFINITELY NOT FORGET ...NO APOLOGIES FROM THE RECEPTION ...BUT LOTS OF EMBARRASSMENT ...THIS IS NOT THE SERVICE ON CAN EXPECT IN FORDSBURG ...
