Meals were great, prices were reasonable and the portions were enormous. All meals were made to order (so took some time but came out great). Highly recommended as a stop along the Swartbergpas.

Coming from The Travelling Tortoise via Prince Albert, Swartberg Pass, we where looking for place for a much needed breakfast. At the start\end of the pass did Kobus se gat appeared. First we thought it was closed but after entering we knew our long awaited breakfast will be served here.
If your seating is outside, the view of the mountains are awesome. They brought very quickly umbrellas as the sun was quite intense.
The food was basic. Time was not an issue, so the longish waiting period, where ingnored.
We will visit it again, if we are hungry and in the ficinity.

You will do yourself a disservice if you don't stop at Kobus se Gat for a meal. We had a mouth wateringly great breakfast with everything fresh and prepared on site. Helpings were generous, tasty and exceptional value for money, and that is before mentioning the friendly and welcoming staff and owner. Make a stop here, and come hungry, you won't be sorry.

We ordered 4 Jam roosterbroodtjies for R26 each ... and we purchased WAY TOO LITTLE! My mouth is drooling just typing about them! You have to stop here and buy their food, it's not something you want to miss. They have a vast variety of things to put on your roosterbrood. Service is very friendly, and quick!

We're enjoying the beautyful self catering accomodation with excelent views of the Swartberg Mountains covered in snow. For lunch we had some awesome kerrie and cheese rooster brood. Unfortunatly the pass was closed due to the snow forming a layer of ice on the road surface and many vehicles geting stuck near the top.

What a treat you guys are - Thank you Chantelle and Olive(cute doggo) for making it possible to see the first of the Snow on the Swartberge.
Topped with some amazing peacan but fudge, honey, cheese boerewors and roosterkoeke!
