Unfortunately, not the best experience at De Kelder. The bar area, (also smoking area) is stuffy - especially when the blinds are closed. Food was a bit bland and tasteless. We tried the dom Pedro, but it was undrinkable and very thick - came only with a straw.

It seems like they are understaffed, since the poor waitress was running around serving multiple tables in different areas. She started neglecting our table once food was served and we ended up ordering drinks from the bar.

I remember eating here about 3 years ago and it was a much different and much better experience. It's clear that they are struggling or lost their touch - in desperate need for some upgrades and refocusing.

Great service and fantastic food. Generous portions and delicious variety of food. We drive all the way from Fish Hoek just to eat there and have never been disappointed.

Pathetic service. I should have known when I walked in and there were no other customers in the restaurant at 13h00 on a Friday. Then the wait started. It seems the personnel were too busy serving the gamblers in the tiny slot machine area attached to the restaurant. I will never go back there

Grilled hake and calamari.. 140 rands
Fish was small portion and dry
Calamari not grilled properly tiny portion
Chips were good for the tartar sauce not the bad.
A lot of money for a less than mediocre meal
Thoroughly disappointed

The venue was beautiful but as soon as we sat down I could feel the air conditioning dripping on my arm. The staff was decent. The waitress had gotton my order wrong and lied about it saying it was for a different customer. The pizza was okay. It was bland and a bit chewy. As a whole it was an okay experience but not a place I would come back to.

Last night, I encountered one of the best, nope, the best Eisbein ever in my life time! Crispy texture at outside and tender meat in with full of juicy!
Foods came out really faster than I expected.

Amazing food and friendly staffs! Must visit again soon!
