Authentic Italian without taking itself to serious.
Casa Bella creates a cozy and unique vibe by leaning into the Italian feeling without being cheesy. It really doesnt feel like a franchise. The resturant managed to feel social and vibey on a very cold Tuesday evening even with it being mostly empty.
The pizzas are definitely a must. 90% of pizzeria owners in South Africa can com here to see how an authentic neopolitan pizza dough is made. Although the pizza dough is traditional with thin crispy middle and a delicious thick and chewy crust the toppings are more creative. There are many intersting combomations that would not be consider traditional in Naples. I would however recomend the Traditional Margerita the combination of buffola margerita and sweeet italian mozzarella is simple yet amazing and reminds us why this dish was named after the Queen of Italy. Another pizza to try would be the Cassa Bella gorngozola and I would avoid Sardinia. On the drinks side they sell a beer called Alpha lager which also come Highly recomended. For a certain another highligh is the complimentary fritters they bring to you table. These deepfried pizza dough balls are so delicious that they are putting the traditional rolls and breadsticks we are used to shame. You will be wondering where these tasty snacks have been your whole life.
Although as all good things do Cassa Bella comes in a little bit price as it works out about R200 per person excluding starters or desert. I would highly recomend this restaurant on the laurels of its pizza and quick and friendly service.
