I enjoyed the food but the music was way too loud. We didn't even sit next to the stage. I had to go sit outside just so that I could hear myself think and even then the music reached us all the way there. It was like having a speaker next to my ear the whole meal. Other than that, the service was okay. The people were nice. I won't go back, but I did have a decent time. It's an experience.

Uniquely situated in a residential area and designed in a very bohemian manner with Afrikaner undertones. Perfect for small functions and long lunches. COVID precautions are in place. We had coffee, tea and cake. The coffee was fine but I would have preferred a more moist chocolate cake for myself although my friends really loved their carrot cake. Lots of nooks and crannies to check out before settling down on a variety of seating choices, including a cut out claw bathtub near the pond. Of interest would be a tiny task monument opened by Mimi Coertze of opera fame. Lovely atmosphere all around

The best food one could eat at Hap koffie huis! Big buffet at a very reasonable price ( cooked by the owner herself) and drinks are not ridiculously expensive. Waiters and owners are very friendly and interactive with clients. You can see they have been working together for many years. Life entertainment was definitely worth it. A show to remember. From the Rodeo girls to their variety of music. Atmosphere is amazing.Hap koffiehuis will definitely see us again!

I concur with Hubert Viljoens review of Hap Koffiehuis, what a delightful fantasy escape type venue. Friendly staff and fabulous owner, a great chat and something to eat/drink for the more open minded amongst us in today's society. Leave your hang ups at the door and go give Hap Koffiehuis a try!

It was a Sunday after a Saturday wedding so we were the only customers and the galleries and museum was closed. Interesting place though! Nice garden and poetry in Afrikaans everywhere. Poësie in Afrikaans.

I had the privilege to have been at the same show that @Blue Nadir is refering to below!!

Was amazing and i don't share the sentiment at all....

Numerous patrons was smoking in the establishment so i dint see the issue with the host smoking As well......

I have had numerous business meetings and have entertained guests from the UK at HAP in the last couple if years......and everybody loved the place and the Hostess.

The food is always immaculate and an exceptional experience.......

I agree the host i eclectic..... but thats part of the experience.

Her staff has been with her for 10 years+ and they have confirmed this on numerous times before....... anybody with simple common sense can see that they have a mother/daughter relationship and they adore each other.....

@Blue Nadir........ your review and degrading sentiments of a special place and Owner is an insult to society........ I would be ashamed of myself.

I would highly recommend anyone who would like to have a unique experience with a lot of banter and awesome food to go and visit this establishment.

The most visually stimulating gem I've ever been too, so much history mixed with creativity and intricate attention to detail, wow!
