Was looking forward to a steak, but was sorely disappointed. A bit of disconnect between the music, decor and menu. Some Asian spring rolls and fishcakes and Chinese lanterns hanging on one side of dining room. Service by Kenny was non-existent. Didn't tell us about the specials, didn't offer us bread like the other tables or welcome us like we heard he did to his other tables around us. When we asked at end of night he said oh we were first diners of night so bread was not done, but diners around us had bread basket. Didn't check up on us the entire night, walking past us about 10 times with our table empty. Goulash soup was ghastly and salty. Lamb kidneys very very salty. Rump was full of fat and sinew. Such a miserable night made to feel like this. Never again.

Fantastic wine pairing menu. Really great steak that was well prepared. The atmospere was lovely and the service really good. The only area of improvement might possibly have been on the pastry that was quite tough.

Over the course if the evening the staff checked in quite a few times to make sure everything was going well. We did find the babground to the wine extremely interested. We were provided with a full explanation of each wine, where it came from and what made it unique. Truly wonderful evening.

Went for Father's day lunch and were not disappointed. Food was great and service from Nigel our waiter was awesome. I loved that old style home-made bread they serve as appetizer - absolutely enjoyed it. My steak Diane was made to perfection, served with vegetables. the chocolate fondant was dark, decadent and rich, served with vanilla ice cream. Unassuming place, well worth our Sunday afternoon.

Average. For starters the fish cakes were not worth the price and tasted more like tuna. Mains Had the chamar "best/halal" steak tasted good but both times ordered was not grilled properly. First steak ordered requested medium came to the table medium rare. The 2nd steak was requested medium well but was well done. Overall the spice and rub tasted good and the pepper and mushroom sauces were nice.

The ambience and service could use some attention as it felt awkward and not comfortable and there were times where we were waiting for service. Opted for dessert elsewhere.

Best steak in Joburg. The decor is unassuming and driving into the parking lot has a bit of the, am I in the right place energy. But the steak is amazing and I'm dying to take friends there.

Best steak I’ve had in a while. Unfortunately my chocolate brownie was a little disappointing- it was actually not much more than a piece of dry chocolate cake. Service was excellent though, and the espresso and Grappa also made up for it.
