I’ve waited 9 months- 9 months, for Eskom to refund me.
9 months ago, after the transfer of my property was through, and Eskom issued me my invoice showing the credit balance due to me.
9 months since I went to get a letter from my bank, as stipulated by Eskom, to prove my bank account was legitimate, before they would pay me my money.
You see, Eskom force a homeowner to advance pay an amount equal to 6 months usage, in order to approve the sale of your property.
The account is closed when the new homeowners open an account, and then issue the account, with credit due to the previous owner.
It’s been 9 months to solicited a response on this - my request as to when I will get my money refunded to my bank account.
Then, out of the blue, I received an email from Eskom, on this old account.
The frightening thing, my latest Eskom account shows a zero balance. Yes, that’s right, a zero balance.
No email, sms, phone call to explain, they’ve just zeroed my account.
And my credit? Where’s the money? It’s been 4 days and it’s not in my account.
What the hell?
