Link is situated in a smaller room just beside their sister restaurant LBV. We came for the 7 course tasting menu as part of restaurant week and we had a decent fine dining experience. The courses were all beautifully presented, and the ingredients used were fresh and delicious.
Of the seven courses, the standouts were definitely the Sous Vide Bone Marrow, Reflections on Pork Belly and the Madagascan Vanilla and Hazelnut dessert. The services was also too notch as our waiter Akim was friendly and knowledgeable about all the dishes.
Now for the negatives... there was an average wait of half an hour between courses. We started timing and there was a 40 minute wait between a course at one point. I understand the food and presentation takes a bit more time, but I’ve been to tasting experiences before and never been left so hungry between dishes. I also found the courses to have lacked a bit of the wow factor that you should experience at a fine dining restaurant. The ingredients were pretty basic and I didn’t feel like there was anything too different or memorable. The Springbok Loin was also tough which was a bit disappointing, and the lavender gel in the last course was quite off-putting.
