After being turned away at another estate where we had called and asked to come and given a yes, then being turned away once arriving. My fiancé and I called Asara who welcomed us warmly and were able to accommodate us. We only had wine as we had come from a picnic elsewhere. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. They did not leave us unattended. The view is absolutely gorgeous and you see ducks passing by every now and then. The estate is very clean and peaceful, well maintained. Really lovely experience. I would highly recommend and definitely be back again.

We did a wine tasting recently, the booking experience was awful. The person doing the bookings , did everything in their power to turn us away . The server delivering the tasting , was amazing he gave us a memorable experience. The overall farm was beautiful and the wine lovely. However the booking and management staff of the wine tasting was unprofessional.

Fantastic views, fantastic food and wine, fantastic staff and Management. Love visiting Asara Wine Estate for a breakfast/lunch or dinner on the beautiful deck overlooking the dam. You won't be disappointed... Thank you Asara xxx

I had always thought of Asara to be a beautiful, renowned wine estate. One of my friends are going abroad and we decided to have a farewell for her and go wine tasting. We have not visit Asara and decided to go there, however from making the booking to actually visiting the wine farm it was unpleasant. When I made my booking I spoke to 3 different people, one person told me they will confirm my booking after 30mins, I phoned at 12:00 got no response. I called back after work at about 15:30 only for another person to tell me that a group of 10 is actually to big for them as their biggest table is for 8 people and suggested that I'd rather try a different place. I was disappointed that they were not willing to accommodate us and was willing to show away business from their own wine farm. I had to give her all the details of my booking AGAIN when I made my booking at 12:00 already and gave the other lady my details. The lady told me she will double check and call me back. She called me back and said it was fine. And I mentioned that I'm not trying to be difficult but am highly disappointed in the experience this far. On Saturday we arrived, the lady who I assume was the tasting manager, assisted us very unprofessionally, I told her my name and said that I had made a booking. And she told my friend and I "oh we were just talking about you that you are late and if you are still coming", my booking was for 13:30 and it was 13:29. If it was 10 or 15 minutes over I would have understood. She also showed me the booking list and said they were sooooo busy and that we will essentially have 45mins for our tasting session. I was not impressed and actually just thought whether I should've just not come here in the first place. The gentleman who served us was wonderful and actually made us forget about the bad service we received leading up to the tasting. The tasting room never got busy. By the time we left at about 15:50, there was 2 other tables if i am correct. I do not think I was be visiting Asara again, perhaps staff should be trained better to deal with people. I also have experience of working in the hospitality industry and I definitely know that what happened is definitely NOT how customers are to be dealt with.

Thank you Sheapard for having us this evening. The food was amazing, the wine was unmatched and the restaurant itself was just a beauty!!! Was lovely to meet the designer of our plates as well. What a great experience.

Finally enjoyed some wine tasting here with great views of Stellenbosch. First attempt here we could not make it in as they were fully booked. This time we made sure to make a booking in advance, Sean was great with the prebooking and we were lucky to be hosted by him for our experience which was a delight.

The hospitality was top notch and so were the wines tasted, a beautiful selection of wines. The interior spaces are beautiful done. We'll worth a visit.
