Quick off the mark. This Run Director doesn’t faff. The briefing session was done and dusted minutes before 8am with a brief indication of a minute to go, then Go!, no 3-2-1, so be prepared if you’re trying for a PB. Speaking of which; this could be a good parkrun to try to achieve that, it’s flat but in no way uninteresting. The run follows the spruit, lined with Weeping Willows, crossing pedestrian bridges from one side to the next, then to a top section with one spot over some rocks. It has two double-ups but very well marshalled. The park was almost spotless (litter free), which cannot be said for many parkruns. Worth noting is the investment in pathways and children’s play areas in the park. Some happy dogs, some running without a leash. Prams allowed. Parking could be tight so best arrive early. Loos not easily found. A pleasant run venue, well supported, with 550 runners on the day.
