Being a big fan of Mexican food I was excited when I heard about Dos Chido in Durbanville. Their name means "Two Cool" (or "Too Cool") and they definitely live up to it, all the way from the drinks and food to the decor. The restaurant has a modern design with vibrant colours with a clear Mexican theme throughout. If you are a fan of Margaritas then this should be your local go-to spot in the Durbanville area. The food is also very tasty. For starters we had some of the chilli poppers (which were on the spicier side of those which I have tried) and pork crackling which was very flavourful and crispy. The mains impressed me even more, with my wife going for the tacos 3-ways (chicken, beef and pulled pork) and I went for their their burger topped with a tasty pork rasher (I can't remember the specific name of the burger though). Most of their meat dishes are smoked and their portion sizes are good. We had a great time and if I lived close by I would definitely frequent them during their happy hour.

Mixed review! But hoping the feedback will lead to improvement as the place and food has great potential.

Atmosphere : quite cold inside the shop. Loved playing jenga while we waited for our food.

Service : friendly and timely. Manager / owner? was very attentive and on-it.

Drinks : water is served chilled in a beautiful tequila bottle. Great recycling, it looks awesome and vibey and also felt like the water is fresh, not standing in an open jug somewhere. Plain margarita was a bit heavy on the lemon. Good happy hour specials.

Food : For starters I had the smoked pork rib croquettes. They were beautifully presented and cooked to perfection, however very lacking in actual meat filling. It was 99% mash. Not bad but not what I expected.

Boyfriend had the bacon wrapped poppers and said they were really good. He especially liked the Louisiana Hot sauce and we took a bottle home!

For mains I had the pulled chicken quesadilla and it was AMAZING. Will happily return just for this dish. Perfect serving size for me. Maybe too little for a man (its a 20cm wrap but folded in half). Again beautifully plated and would most likely add this to the Mr Delivery favorites list!

Boyfriend had the smoked brisket bun (torta). He was very happy with the portion size and flavours, the only complaint being that the meat on the burger was cold.

For dessert we ordered their very generous slice of carrot cheese cake to take home for later. Not sure if we misread or they were trying something new but the cake had a very strong blue cheese icing. Not what we expected and a very unwelcome surprise when we were so looking forward to it - even as a cheese lover. We tried a few bites but couldn't actually continue to eat it. Very sad. Wouldn't order it again.

I would still recommend it as a hidden gem and maybe a nice venue to host a birthday as you could possibly book the place out. I hope they fix the carrot cheese cake and add some more meat to the croquettes mix. We look forward to trying some of their other dishes and starters and I will definitely have me some more of those quesadillas.

What a quirky and fun mexican restaurant. My friends and I really enjoyed the food, some very hot but also options for the more sensitive pallet. Staff was also really fun and friendly, helping us navigate through an interesting but quirky menu. Food was great. A definite must try.

I haven't found ribs I like in 30 years. Until we discovered Dos Chido. Delicious. Addicted. Keep it up guys ????

The food is a new taste experience, something different from what other restaurants offer. It was deliciously prepared, well presented. The owner shows great interest in his customers. I can absolutely recommend this food as it really is something unique and well worth tasting.

I was rather hungry today and felt like Pulled Pork... Found Nachos, with Pulled Pork, here, as I hoped for. Rather nice "wood fired smoker" they have there and the pulled pork tasted as good as it looks on the photograph!
