This is a rather difficult review to write, as there are extremes of both good, average and extremely poor. Our stay was 6 days
The good - the café below the hotel, food was excellent, the staff were stunning , especially Stan - friendliest waiter in town.
The location of the hotel is superb, you can walk to the CBD or Waterfront and there are also many excellent restaurants in the area. Be warned this is a city location and it is quite noisy late at night but that adds to the vibe.
The average: This is not a hotel, the name is misleading, the rooms have no aircon, no TV, no radio and are quite small, the bathroom is in the room, the bed old and lumpy, you will die of heat in the summer.
The bad, management seems to have no interest in their guests comfort, despite the drought being long over, we were advised that whilst our room would be cleaned every day towels and linen would only be change once every 4 days and if we wanted sooner we would have to pay.
Day 4, we were advised that the housekeeper was lazy was leaving for home in another country and hadn't cleaned our room, changed our linen or emptied bin, the manageress who was on duty, who appeared to have a working pair of hands did not offer clean lined or even to empty our bin. Day 5 - room cleaned, Day 6 room not cleaned a different manager (also with working hands) just turned his back when I advised we were out for a few hours and they could clean the room. Although he did find time to spend hours chatting to his friends outside the hotel.
Overall I will visit the café for a meal again, the lamb was delicious, however give this poor guest house a miss if you enjoy comfort, good service and a clean room. Rather stay at the Capital for a few Rand more down the road, avoid this fake hotel
