My hip replacement was performed successfully at this hospital in May 2020. I was thoroughly impressed with the nursing staff in theatre and in the ward, cleaners, and meal attendants. The orthopaedic surgeon and physio who treated me were first class too. The view from my window was wonderfully soothing.

Had a wonderful experience with my 4-year old's hernia repair op. The post surgery recovery (male) nurse was especially amazing, zapped that pain in the bud! From the ward nurses who cared for him down to the kitchen lady who brought extra meals and juices for a very hungry little boy.

Terrible experience. The nursing staff in the pediatric ward is pathetic. No empathy they act as if they doing you a favor. Gosh let me not talk about the security that has to sign you into the pediatric ward. These people really need proper training and need to learn basic etiquette. No problem with our doctor but the nurses really need a check.

Came to the Emergency and waited for more than an hour before a doctor was able to see my daughter. Staff was rude and brushed-off our questions of when we can be seen. They said they don’t know, as they only have one doctor?? Such a big ER and only one doctor on duty? If it’s an emergency department and no one is concern about attending to patients with an emergency, then the Health Department should just close hospitals like this down.

My Dad has been in and out of Christian Barnard for 2 years, with the last visit being almost 3 months. The nursing care was abominable to say the least especially in this last visit. My father was unable to feed himself or take a drink of water, with meals being dumped at a table far from him, only for the food to be collected hours later uneaten. Even after numerous requests from our family for the nurses to assist my Dad, he was still ignored. In desperation, we employed a private carer to ensure he was fed !!!! A private carer in a private hospital !! Christian Barnard would be turning in his grave if he knew the legacy he left behind. Unfortunately , my poor Dad passed away after this visit, but the only consolation is that I never have to set foot here again.

My husband and I waited 7 hours in the emergency room to be told that his appendix needed to be removed. I understand that the emergency nurses and doctors work under a lot of pressure but that particular night it was not busy at all so to keep a sick patient waiting 7 hours for a diagnosis is unreasonable. We were also not informed when the shift change happened and had to keep asking the nurses what's happening. I felt like he could have been diagnosed within 2-3 hours max.

This hospital is amazing. I spent 5 days here and as dreadful as that may sound, the staff took care that it won't be. Everything is neat and of high standard. The nurses were friendly and attentive. Towards the weekend the service started to slack and it was a struggle to receive some help, but otherwise I was very happy. Unfortunately the food options do not reflect healthy nutrition, as one would naturally expect from a health care facility. However, I would gladly return since it is so convenient to have numerous specialists sitting under the same roof, making it all hassle free.
