Amazing views..
Lots of thorny bushes ..
Can give you a rash..
But its all worth it once on top..
Not much of a path on top of mtn...

So so amazing! The views from up there are so breathtaking. The journey up was so good too. Worth the trek. Do it. Good path. Good bird life. And the colour of flowers pretty too.

Awesome view from up here. It will take about 4 hours of walking from Helderberg Nature reserved kiosk to reach the triangulation beacon on the highest point of the dome. This is for the relatively fit hiker. The superfit will take much less time. 360 degrees view - Lourensford, Sir Lowry's pass, Gordons Bay, Strand, Somerset West, West peak of Helderberg, Macassar to Muizenberg beach, rear view of Table Mountain, Cape Town and Cape flats, round to Stellenbosch and back to Lourensford. Bring enough food and water. 2 liters is not enough. Very steep climbs on all fours at some places. Duration back depends on fitness levels and can be from 2 to 3.5 hours. Plan this as a full day event. Make sure your shoes are in a good condition. Take enough food - what do you normally eat in 7 hours and more?

It is a tough hike but worth the effort. The views of the entire peninsula is breathtaking ????Only do it on a clear day.
