Extremely disappointed by the lack of compassion and professionalism of the staff / management at Chartwell Guest House. After saving for a much needed weekend away I booked and paid the full amount upfront for two rooms. Due to unforseen cirmcumstances we were unable to make the trip and I informed Chartwell Guest House as soon as I was able to. I explained that I understood the improbability of receiving a refund due to the short notice, but asked if it would be possible to hold onto the payment to be used on another weekend (would even be prepared to go on a weekend when the lodge was not too busy). To date I am still waiting for a reponse to my mails from the owner and have been totally ignored while my money has just been "taken". I would suggest that if you are booking at Chartwell Guest House you do NOT pay the full amount upfront. Life is filled with unforseen circumstances, and this has been very clear over the past two years with COVID. There is absolutely no sense of compassion from Chartwell Guest House. You have lost a couple of clients and any future clients I may have referred to your lodge.
