My son was staying there for 3 nights and requested to extend for another 2. They promised him the room only to find that when he went to pay, they said it's full and the guy who he had made arrangements with had knocked off. He was late for his exam as I had to look for another accommodation for him. Maybe we must thank you guys, because, we found a very luxurious, comfortable, reasonable accommodation with very efficient and friendly staff which we will be using at least once in 2 weeks. So, we will never bother you again. Thank you so much!!!

I booked online. When I checked in, everything was ready for. I only had to verify my details. Comfy rooms. Kids enjoyed having their own rooms. Very privately set up. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Recommended to everyone ????

I lodged there with a bunch of Primary school children. We really enjoyed our time there. The rooms were cleaned and the environment is very neat.
And oh! Very affordable.
We are definitely coming back.

I don't understand how people review a 1 star hotel as 'not luxurious' and how the breakfast offered 'hasn't got great variety.'

Seriously?

It's a 1 star hotel, it offers a place to sleep with ablutions, a kettle, TV and AC. Gateway theatre of shopping is within walking distance.

If you would like more than that, be prepared to pay for it. It's that simple.

Extremely noisy. Wanted to rest after the long road, but that was impossible, no sleep because of the noise and other people that stayed, the next door rooms demonstrate absolute no respect or consideration. Party, drinking, loud talking, and SMOKING when there is a NO SMOKE sign leaving us with stuffed noses! Smoke alarm went off but nothing had been done to sort it out as smoking was still present- totally unacceptable. Our aircon/fan was not working making it uncomfortable.
Our last stay at this hotel. Never again.

Me and my fiancé enjoyed our stay at this place. We have never considered this place before until it was recommended to me by a lady I meet at the salon. It’s affordable and convenient for us as we are always on the move.

I wrote a review yesterday about the unfriendly service when I did the booking. On top of that my husband's flight was delayed. He is a regular at Umhlanga Ridge Road Lodge. Without phoning me or my husband they cancelled the booking. The other Road Lodges have the decency to phone you or to check up on you. Not this lodge. He is there for another week and will definitely not be staying at Umhlanga Ridge Road Lodge.
