Umhlanga Netcare hospital has good facilities and staff however at times of crisis or peak intakes, the service seems to lack professionalism and control. I believe that the hospital Management need to invest a little in trained staff whom remain calm, provide excellent patient/family care and support in making their visit/stay at the hospital a 5 star experience. I have witnessed nursing staff speak to patients and families rudely which is understood as being caused by being under pressure however such should never happen. Specific staff highly trained in public relations and organizing in crisis situations should be in place and not allow professional medical staff to deal with such

I was very apprehensive about having my baby at this hospital due to the reviews I read prior. I however had a very pleasant experience. Kudos to everyone at the maternity unit. Dr Kesene and Dr Marabhai were excellent, the nurses were all very kind and helpful, Nurse Jessica in particular. The meals were tasty and arrived promptly, I honestly received the best care, and will forever remember my experience fondly. Thank you again to the staff at Netcare Umhlanga.

I was extremely impressed with the services that I received during my stay at uMhlanga hospital- maternity ward. The nurses assisted me so much when I was in pain. Thank you to Mala, Deepa, Leean and the other nurses. They were all professional and the food was really enjoyable. The ward was quiet and facilities were clean. No issues except that there could be 2 visiting hours a day for grandparents. Keep up the good work and efficiency!

The service at this hospital is pathetic and despicable. It was my first time in hospital and was definitely the worst experience ever. Nurses have a lot of attitude, make fun of patients, don't follow doctors instructions and just don't care. Once brought in to the ward, you are forgotten like discarded trash. Instead of answering calls from concerned family members, nurses are busy having their own conversations at the front desk. This unprofessional service from a private hospital is astounding.
A family member had a similar procedure done at Life Mount Edgecombe Hospital and was well-cared for with absolutely no complaints. I will definitely not be coming back and neither do I recommend this hospital to anybody.

Absolutely horrendous service. You basically have to remind the ward staff of the doctors instructions. You can overhear their conversations but when you press the bell, no one attends to you. When and if they do, your request is just forgotten about. Even the 1 star that I have rated is too much. Absolutely dismal service. No compassion for patients. You to a hospital because you’re in discomfort, you end up feeling worse. Been here before and the service is very very poor.
Please don’t come here if you don’t have to.

I was recently admitted to the hospital for a emergency procedure in my back. From the time of arriving there everything went so smoothly although I was in great agonising pain. The casualty staff were amazing. I was admitted and treated by Dr P Samuels. What a brilliant Specialist Doctor!!????Offcourse with assistance from the nursing staff in Surgical ward 2 and special mention to Jabu Dube a nurse that really know how to treat the patients with dignity and respect in your vulnerable state. Also I will mention the Physiotherapist Andrew Sandler who got me up on my feet and mobile in no time! Overall the Netcare Umhlanga Hospital made this stressful experience so much more pleasant! Not to mention the good quality and options of the meals being offered!!????????
