Good new is they have changed the seats, not as good as before, but keeping in mind there were 6 people who were at the last movie I visited I think they need to reduce costs. They have people who provide good service. The popcorn was not too bad. The cold drink was great and huge. The cinema was clean and seem to be new fittings. I was able to go in and watch a movie without much trouble. The decor outside is brilliant and captivating. The new lift that allows easy access from the parking is very useful. The cost of the refreshments should not be more expensive than the movie ticket.

Definitely one of my favourite movie theatres. The sound quality is excellent, screen and cinema sizes are great! The seats are soft and comfortable with enough room. My only complaint is that popcorn is served in a paper bag which crinkles a lot especially when most people at the theater are reaching for popcorn during the movie.

This is going to be an odd review, as the last time I went to a movie theatre was about 10 years ago.

I don't think the pandemic has been helpful, but the overall state of the movie theater is feeling tired, and the newer setup loses the touch of the old. It was hard to find staff and the entire place felt like a bit of a ghost town.

The Prestige lounge was not great unfortunately. I was expecting the Prive of old, but instead it was simply a separate space to chill before the movie, with sparse food choices (poor) and coffee (okay). Not currently licensed so I didn't get to have a beer before my show. The movie entrances are attached to the lounge, so busier times may make this more worthwhile. The Prestige movie theater did have comfy reclining seats though, so that was good.

Overall a fun night at the movies, but I cannot help but think that movie theaters need to make big changes to attract people.

Overall a great cinema experience. Spacious and comfortable cinemas. I did have an experience where I went with my family and our seats were double booked. However upon contacting management the issue was resolved, we were given an apology and invited back and had a great time. The latest movies are always showing and the show times are accurate

On Friday the 17th of June I went to Ster Kinekor movie theater at gateway mall with my little brother to watch the new Jurassic World movie. I stood in line and as I got to the ticket counter I greeted the lady at the front ,she did not speak to me. She pointed to the touch screen built in to the counter. I then picked the movie I wanted to watch which was scheduled to show at 12:15 PM as well as the snacks after this was done she then informed me that they only accept card payments. I unfortunately only had cash with me. I then asked her if there was any alternative methods that would allow me to pay for the movie . She shrugged her shoulders and didn't respond. At this point I was quite annoyed as well as disappointed. Fortunately another lady that worked there suggested that I speak to the manager. The manager suggested I go downstairs to the information office and deposit money into a gift card which I would use to pay for the tickets. After frantically rushing about and getting the tickets as well the snacks I arrived in the movie theater only to realize that the movie already started and I missed a good 15 minutes . This was not an enjoyable experience, I am very disappointed in Ster Kinekor.

I had cash on me and they could only use card, I miss the old days but I understand. We Ned to evolve. There was nice staff members and even with a rude customer that has a smile and they were there to help and I was catching the last movie of the day so it already close to they end of staff and they still have a smile on they face, I mean give them great employees of the year mate.

The movie experience is brilliant.
But access to movies is rather poor.
U can make purchases with CASH.
That was really a hopeless feature.
My kids don't have bank accounts to use at the movies... so I give them cash.. but unfortunately they can use cash at the movies.

The cinema is dying please make it easier to pay not hard for people to come to your premises.

When I was a kid we used to come to the cinema all the time with cash now kids won't come cos they have no accounts.

Please ask fnb or standard bank or any of the banks to give u stats on the number of non banked south African before u make such a choice to not have bank card being used
