Great location but the place could use a bit of work for sure. No hand soap or anything to dry hands with in any of the bathrooms or the kitchen is a problem. Obviously hostels (or backpackers as they’re referred to around here) aren’t known for stellar amenities but there’s a difference between being no frills and downright cheap. People have to wash their hands man. No adapters in the room is not a dealbreaker but it would be a nice gesture if they were added especially given the fact that most accommodations in this country have them. Again location is great and the staff I interacted with were very nice and helpful. The negatives are in no way a reflection on them, they don’t own the place. The guy who does seems to be very active online and responds to each review personally. Maybe direct some of that energy into improving your establishment sir? Just one traveler’s opinion. Excellent central location. Easy walk down the beach. Awesome selection of restaurants on Florida. Groceries and any last minute essentials can be found at Pick n Pay and Spar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Patrick (owner) is fab. Nice, fast wifi. Satisfied, repeat customer.

I haven’t been to this said hostel yet, infact I’m not even in S.A or ever been there before. I’m coming there in July. I needed an affordable place to stay for a few months. I’m getting interested in trying this place out because I’ve read sooo many bad reviews on here, but I’m thrilled with the fact that the owner makes sure to clear the misunderstandings developed due to the fact that it was rented to the wrong handler for a while and also making sure he sees to everyone’s worries and complaints and seeing to it that everything would be sorted out, that’s a plus????????. I’ve seen nicer hotels before I saw this while making my research and for some reasons I feel I can trust this place in giving me the services I really want and I’m hoping I enjoy my stay.

The team is very nice !!
We enjoyed our stay there, so comfortable, the dorms are great and the place is perfect !!!
I recommend :)

Very warm friendly efficient staff
Great location
Some off street parking
Surf board hire
Got to meet the mayor of Durban when staying in Tekweni

Small rooms, limited space. Won't recommend that place to other people. Location is top but service is not good.
