I've never seen so many board games in my life. You need a good couple of hours to get into the games. Games are on sale as well. I didn't have anything to eat as it is not halaal.

It's not often you can spend 3 hours in a Cafe having tons of fun with friends, only the most magical places make this possible. And Big Box is one of the most magical of these places! Really cosy with tons of board games to pick from and walls covered by boardgames to play or buy, you couldn't ask for a better environment. Unfortunately the little kitchen took quite a while to get all the food cooked as all the tables were full, but you get so lost in the games you barely notice the time going by. Super keen to get back sometime soon.

The Big Box Café is probably one of the very few bars in Cape Town where people actually interact with one another, and where mobile phones take the backseat. The ambiance is kind, warm, unpretentious and lovely.

Besides enjoying a game or two and a drink/snack, this café is THE PLACE TO BE to buy boardgames - from conventional games such as Monopoly and Rummicup - to more interesting ones.

The idea of free games and a snack or lunch- catches my attention. I enjoyed the experience. Friendly staff. Small intimate space, but big enough to enjoy the games. There are so many games to chose from and options to buy them afterwards. - the friendly staff packed our games up for us - Bonus. If you want to spend time socialising with friends or family, definately a good way to get people off their phones. Food is good. For the experience and the food, The Big Box Cafe is worth trying out.

The place usually hosts wine tastings on Friday nights. The tastings are super interesting and good fun for the wine lovers. They have delicious crepe and a wide variety of board games, which is super appropriate for families and groups. The music is too loud sometimes and it disturbes the conversation.

"We're never too young to have fun."

A playful cafe to settle down with your friends and or family, and play boardgames the old traditional way, while having a cup of coffee or something to munch to. The cafe capture the idea of games.

I love the concept of this place, but delivery was not even close. Food was incredibly bad and drink menu was smaller than average. There are just so many ways this could be better.

I think for a place that could be great, the owners are pushing for a little less than just okay.
