Probably one of the best kept secrets in Johannesburg. a clean well-maintained park where people walk dogs or themselves in a friendly environment. this is all made possible by just a few volunteers that contribute financially and with their spare time to achieve this high standard with little support from municipal services.

I lost two family members today due to Covid. Just wanted fresh air, took my 18 year old blind and deaf Jack Russel for a walk to the park around the corner. Was sitting on the bench next to the children's play area for about half an hour when I heard two big black dogs barking, they saw my dog and running towards me with a speed. At the back, far way there was two domestic workers. I waved and screamed at them to put the dogs on a leash and call them back. They ignored me, one biggish lady walking slowly and the dogs ran towards us. They were standing, barking and sniffing on us. I never was so scared in my life! My dog on a leash is blind and deaf, reacting on smells, barking at them. I kept on yelling because the lady suppose to look after them did not do anything!!!! When she came nearby she start yelling and screaming wanted to attack me, she put her face near mine screaming that I am racist!!! I keep on telling her that it is not the case, nothing to do with her or me, but because the dogs are not on a leash and wanted to attack me! She kept on screaming and swearing accusing me of all kind of things!!! When I passed the play area another women also accused my dog of being unfriendly and that this specific park is a dog park and that any dogs CAN run loose and without a leash!! Not a good experience at all.....

Great park well maintained, better to go in a little group for safety, no incidents that I've heard of just being cautious
