Had a lovely little dinner the evening of our Stay. Good was excellent, a little slow to arrive but for me, so worth the wait. That Serloin steak was cooked to perfection. Breakfast the next morning was just as phenomenal, Wow! What an excellent team of people working there especially during Breakfast, they sure know how to keep things moving and making sure their customers are Happy. Thank you so much and we will be back.

I called in advance asking if they are able to cater to a Jain vegetarian vegan diet prior to reserving a table to which they assured me it was possible. However upon arrival, I waited one and a half hours for a salad and after two hours, my wife's food arrived but I was informed the main I ordered could not be made to my dietary requirements. This is most upsetting as the restaurant confirmed with me before I made the reservation and when I ordered my food that they could cater to my diet. I sat for more than two hours waiting for my main only to be told it could not be made. Extremely unacceptable.

Average Range of Food. Average Price. Average Food. Needs a refresh for the future- along with revised floor training.
Prides itself on a changing menu; I guess changing every 5 years is still technically changing.

1 Sentence description:
Renaissance-themed hotel restaurant with a nice line in buffet breakfasts.

What’s good here?
I had the pleasure of a nice breakfast here whilst staying at the Southern Sun Montecasino, Fourways.

The restaurant is laid out lovely in a ornate Renaissance style, with buffet stands for the various breakfast treats e.g. cereal, fruit, pastries, egg station and warm bacon, sausage, corn fritters, pancakes etc.
Whilst it’s self-service the waiters are friendly and eager to help.

Tell me more
Despite there being oodles of dining options at Montecasino to suit every palate, I’d have no qualms returning here for dinner or otherwise as the food quality was very good.

Very slow and confused personnel . The service is weird , it looks like everybody is busy on the computer screen imputing something . The food is average as it reached us very late from order . Even to get water and drinks you need to ask 2 or 3 times. It is not a place we enjoyed. My expectations were to high ? I though was nice coming for new year eve but was probably a mistake . You shall get more skilled and proactive people working .

The place visually is beautiful and great place to take pictures, but I'm giving it two stars because the bathroom area reeked of urine, the employees seemed confused have to ask for something for 3 times to finally get it, seasoning and the food not the best I'm glad I order a steak because you can always add salt and pepper adding some garlic and rosemary to steak wouldn't hurt. My family members meals were really not up to par the baby chicken did not look appetizing looked boiled and drowned with gravy wasn't good would not recommend and as for the Burgers why would you put tomato and onion gravy in it you could just slice some tomatoes and onions would've been much better. The fries are stale and the tiramisu isn't even tiramisu my Italian dad was shocked there's no custard in tiramisu and it was just a mess that should be removed or renamed something else. The drinks and teas are okay since you know it's a drink no had to prepare but get it and serve which took forever to get. I would recommend going just for drinks and to sit not eat unless you like hospital food lol jokes but seriously needs improvement with seasoning and food presentation :)

Enjoyed a delicious high tea on the veranda in a beautiful and peaceful setting. The food not only looked incredible but tasted absolutely devine. The selection was well planned with something for every taste. Chef Kieren and his staff exceeded my expectations with their delicious food and wonderful attentive service. We can definitely recommend them with full confidence to everyone we know. High tea at this venue is something not to be missed.
