We were in desperate need of a restaurant for dinner after our lodges restaurant turned out to be underwhelming. Stopped at The Bass Lake to enquire and from the answer of the intercom we were greeted with outstanding, friendly service. The manager greeted us at the entrance with a menu, a smile and a "no problem at all" attitude and we booked for the evening. Again when arriving for dinner, we were greeted at the entrance and taken to our table. Such a simple gesture of service set the beautiful tone for our evening. The food was the cherry on top. Fine dining, with the price fair. We had Butternut soup and mussel for starters, and pork belly and Lamb shank for mains. It was exquisite!! Even our 2 year old ate everything without complaint (from our plates of course). The restaurant was cozy, with a fire place and jazz music playing. Lovely evening and highly recommended. We were not booked at the lodge but will definitely put on our list to visit again in the future.
