Catfish gym, looks good however 30% of equipment is jammed or broken due to no maintenance. Treadmills slipping also a safety concern Spacious and lots of equipment, however can't use them since they kick you out during load shedding morning and evening. Still debit your account but take no precaution to ensure backup lights.

I’m nation wide gym membership holder of ignite fitness , 2months ago I had a payment issue Of a lousy 50 rand which was a penalty fee because they debited on the wrong date 2 months later my card still isn’t activated and have issues EVERY SINGLE TIME! I go to train . If you expect amazing customer service don’t waste your time joining ignite fitness , I had zero issues with planet fitness and may return to them soon !

This gym has been open since 2019. To date, no backup power has been put in place. No alternatives at all. When the power goes off the gym closes its doors. Absolutely ridiculous. I wouldn't recommend anyone to join until they start communicating facts and delivering service, we pay their ridiculous monthly rates for no service.

Pros: lots of equipment, clean
Cons: most equipment not oiled(machines jam etc)
Overall would be a 3/4 star gym however, they get a 1 star as they don't have backup lights so during load shedding you get kicked out. I, like most people can only train in the mornings before or after work, so essentially you're paying for a service you cannot use. Rather go to virgin active up the road

Great gym with good prices and equipment, but after 3 years they still don't have any power during loadshedding. Not even candles. It has really started bothering me since they always have loadshedding after 5 o'clock which is the perfect time for a lot of people to come to the gym since you can't do anything else. Now there are literally people sitting on benches with phone flashlights on in pitch black darkness falling over dumbbells.

The classes are not as advertised on their website, they have recently cancelled 6am classes on Mondays and Thursdays because of 'low attendance'. A normal gym has classes from Monday to Fridays early mornings and from 5pm in the evenings. This was addressed with the manager Marcus Moleko and his regional Manager Kevin Veerajoo who both basically told us to F off and cancel our gym membership, instead of finding a solution for their clients. There is no swimming pool, no sauna and no security at the parking lot. Think twice before joining this place.

I am not really sure how to put this except to say that I don’t believe they act fairly upon contract cancellation ( to be clear I was out of contract when I cancelled). And I also don’t believe that this is not unique to Ignite. However, I have to say that I even received confirmation from one of their employees that they felt the cancellation process was unethical, although the person backtracked when confronted (name emitted to protect that person). What is incredible to me is that gyms are the only service you pay for even if you do not use it. I think that this is a general issue that needs to be looked at and I suppose I expected too much from them in the way of understanding when requesting that they waive/backdate the month’s notice. To be clear, they acted within the ambit of the law but perhaps not in the spirit of it. I suppose “school fees” paid again when joining a gym. While I did use their facilities I can confirm that some of their equipment was not in fair working order.
