Nice small piazza with restaurants and café around.
A couple of Nelson Mandela statues; giant with everyone taking pictures with and one tiny like 1 m tall.
The square has good number of restaurants like
Butcher's
HARD ROCK
Raj (Indian)
It is connected to 2 malls (biggest Sandton)

I definitely feel like I'm out hanging around this place. Great restaurants. When searching for Mandela Square entrance try looking for the North tower, thank me later. Walking thru the mall is a hassle.

It's been a minute since I last visited Nelson Mandela Square. I got to the Square and was waiting for my couz for our lunch date. I waited and watched people do touristy things like taking pictures with/under the giant Nelson Mandela statue. It was beautiful to see people going about their business and happy to be out and about.

The square contains One of the various shopping malls in jburg Stanton mall. Major retail outlets are available from clothes (Woolworth, truworth, adidas, tiger of Sweden, etc) to food outlets too many to mention. Has various floors and an atrium at the 5th floor. There are banking outlets and a western union outlet for exchange. The whole mall is clean and organized. The square has various statues of Madiba himself and some information posts. There are good hotels nearby.

Nelson Mandela Square is a very picturesque place, fused with new and older buildings. Lots and lots of monuments with individual stories. Even if you do not have a tour guide they have freee WiFi available everywhere that you can use to scan and read about each monuments with excellent writeup on them to make you further appreciate it and love the art works presented. As a traveller, I have grown to love internet more than food so to me free internet makes the whole experience awesome. No need to hire a guide as the write-up online explains things so we'll you don't even have questions at the end. There are food joints all over, from healthy, vegan , fast food and junk , they have it all . Awesome people and very welcoming. Lots of places to sit and hangout. The people didn't mind the camera pointing and would always smile when you are taking a picture.
Foods and prices were awesome and they even have a local experience right the square that if you wanted to do a local food experience, it's right at your reach. All in all an awesome place . Thick all the boxes ........freeeee WiFi.

A great location for dinning in the centre of Sandton, Johannesburg litter with restaurants and hotels. Great place to enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner or supper with a plethora of outlets to choose from. I have no hesitation in rating this location 5 star.

This is the best place in Sandton u0026 I would say one of the safest places around. I used to visit here daily after office hours u0026 it was relaxing. I did find many kids u0026 people playing around the Fountain ⛲. The fountain is the main attraction here, it keeps on changing colours u0026 structure, it's cool but you must not stand-in between otherwise you will get wet.
