Enjoy staying at this hotel. Mostly stay here for work trips. Food, service and facilities are great. Connected to the mall which is a great benefit.

Rooms are slightly out dated, TVs lack functionality and coverage.

Great bar with a really good view.

I always love being at the Southern Sun Hype Park - stunning venue, world class facilities, eco friendly and energy efficient products and services. The staff are beautiful, friendly and attentive. The views are mind blowing I am always awestruck with this venue. Well done guys!!

The hotel was beautiful, clean and great hospitality staff, however I requested for something special to be done for my husbands 40th. Danica mentioned they leave a little cake on the bed which we never got, as we checked out the lady at reception said she would call me with a reason why it wasn't done. It's a week later and no response, clearly customer service don't matter.

The location was not bad as the hotel itself is fused into the Hyde park mall. However, my main reservation was the food; it just wasn't great.

The rooms could also be better, and certainly with TVs that weren't from 2 decades ago.

Southern Sun Hyde park has very nice rooms, a lovely restaurant with a view of Sandton. Very good breakfast options as well, I loved the 4D cinema in the basement (not sure if it is still there) but it was one more offering of relaxation away from one's room inside the hotel. The staff were all very friendly, the ones at the restaurant were exceptional, ensuring the orders are made as quickly and well as possible. Wifi service was also very good and reliable.

Went to the restaurant. Their food was great but they don’t have a big menu, or wide variety of meals.

The lounge though is magnificent especially with the heater on, on a cold day.

Beautiful service, great ambitious but the food is fantastic better than expected... it would be nice if they changed their furniture to fit a more relaxed and accommodating environment.
