I always Glenda’s tricky. It’s always a mixed experience. Lovely setting but poor service especially when you sit outside. I always expect a premium experience but basic expectations aren’t met like prompt service or frequent check-ins.

The food was decent. The fish cake was delicious. And the pancakes afterwards was lovely. The asparagus, eggs and truffle was just okay.

But sitting outside in the sun and people watching is always welcome. Slowing down the pace of life just a few meters from a fast paced Jan Smuts Avenue.

Got the large Chocolate Brownie Popcorn Cake for my birthday and it was absolutely delicious! It was rich and moist and I suggest you add ice cream when serving to balance the flavour of the cake. The icing was perfect and meringue complimented the cake so well. The photo doesn't do justice to this beautiful creation. Happy customer

Unique deco. It was ideal for a feminine Women's Day brunch. Friendly staff, small little surprize delicacies on the menu. The American pancake was such a sweet and tangy unique dish.????

My son took us out for breakfast last Saturday and what a lovely eating - out experience we enjoyed in the early morning wintery sunlight piercing through the large surrounding trees.The waitrons were attentive friendly and efficient, our meals were beautifully presented within an acceptable time period. Comes highly recommended ????

The reason they lose 2 stars is due to the service received.

It was a quiet morning and the welcome was pleasant, however the waitress who eventually served us was not up to standard.

She was very robot like not showing any emotion whatsoever.

When we asked her to return to take our orders, she took forever and had to keep on trying to get her attention.

Eventually when she came we placed orders and I was very clear on the type of eggs I wanted.

The wait time was a bit long I felt and eventually when the food came, my eggs were opposite to what I wanted.

I asked for Sunnyside up eggs but I got over easy.

The waitress was careless in serving me what I didn't want and only after explaining to her what she should have done in the first place, she offered to remake , but i didn't want to wait another 10 minutes so just ate them as it came.

My wife on the other hand enjoyed her meal so as for the quality of food, comfort of the restaurant, ambiance, and decor, this rating should have been 5 star.

One of the best breakfast places. The quality of the food is extraordinary. Probably one of the best coffees in the city.
Any dish you choose will be delicious. The prices can be quite high for some dishes but the melanzanne, parpadelle, or the tomato soup are less than 120 and VERY good.
I’m giving it only 4 stars because they left the empty plates on the table for too long, and I had to order a glass of water 3 times.
It is not easy to find a place with unpretentious high quantity food and this is it. Ideal for breakfast with a nice bakery.

Stopped here for a little breakfast this morning and all our food was DELICIOUS the Croque monsieur was just amazing and the rest of the order was just as wonderful!!! Not to mention the little tiny cute cakes that we had after breakfast! The decor inside is eclectic and very comfortable to sit and enjoy a lovely Sat morning comfort - what’s treat! The only sad part was the service our waitress asked 100 questions and maybe it’s just me that needs to learn that enquiring minds are Ok ???? otherwise excellent definitely come back or just come visit for sure you won’t be disappointed!!! Not very child friendly ????
